3 TRADITIONAL CAMP SENECA WITH A SPLASH 9 am - 4 pm Offered throughout the summer, Traditional Camp Seneca is designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, drama, group games, music, nature exploration, sports, recreational swimming, Wednesday field trips, Thursday cookouts, Friday dress up themes and more. We also include swim lessons every day. Camps are themed weekly. Campers are typically grouped by ages. Most activities are held outdoors. Camp Fee: $175/week Members Pay Only: $145/week Week 6 will be prorated. Animal Planet Week 2: June 4-8 Get WILD this summer! Learn about different animals, play animal-themed games, create animal art, and explore cool colorful critters from around the world. Wednesday field trip to the Zoo. LEGO Mania Week 3: June Use your imagination to create LEGOthemed crafts and interact with all sorts of LEGO contraptions that crawl, spin, and race to the finish line. It s a bit of LEGO overload, but that s a good thing. We will walk to Circus Kaput Wednesday and Snapology will visit us Thursday. Super Hero Week Week 4: June Unlock your super powers during this adventure-filled week. Discover the hero in you through challenges, adventures and good deeds. Grab your mask and capes as we launch ourselves into fun and games. On Wednesday, we will visit a fire station and see real super heroes. Weird Science Week 5: June Slime, eruptions, explosions and more! It s a week of scientific experimentation as we explore the world around us! Wednesday field trip to Whole Foods. Pirates of the High Seas Week 6: July 2-3, 5-6 Ahoy matey! All ye pirates out thar, come discover your inner PIRATE with a week full o adventure! This week will have pirate journeys, treasure huntin, map makin, walkin t plank, and many other excitin activities. No camp July 4. Blast from the Past Week 7: July 9-13 It s time to get RETRO! Come have a TOTALLY GROOVY trip through the decades. Each day will be a different era and we will learn about popular trends, games, and music from the past! Field trip to the History Museum. Wacky Water Week Week 8: July Enjoy the summer heat with wacky water fun! Come ready to get wet and enjoy swimming, water games, relays, water balloons and team competitions. Field trip to North Pointe Aquatic Center. Drama Rama Week 9: July Campers will shine during this week of creativity! Come join us for a camp full of karaoke, theater, drama, and talent! Friday activities will include a parent lunch and talent show. Under the Big Top Week 10: July 30-August 3 Come one, come all to the Seneca with a Splash Carnival! We will see Circus Kaput, play some awesome carnival games, meet some clowns, and show off your circus talents. Fun with the Force Week 11: August 6-10 Calling all Jedis! Come to a galaxy far, far away, and join the Jedi council in a multitude of fun and exciting sci-fi themed activities and games. Young Jedis will train in light sabre battles, defeat the dark side, and destroy the death star! Learn all about droids and Wookies in this galactic adventure! On Wednesday, we will visit the Science Center. 4 SPORTS CAMPS Camp Weeks 2-11 Camp will be centered daily around recreational sports such as soccer, basketball, floor hockey and more. Mornings will include plyometrics and skill-specific exercise. Afternoons will feature structured games and special activities. 9 am-4 pm $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Week 6 will be prorated. Develop your child s shooting, passing and dribbling skills. Following skill development, we will lead scrimmages focusing on offense and defense. 9 am-12 pm $115 a week, Y members pay $95 Attend morning and afternoon halfday camps then bring your lunch and eat with others! Soccer Camp Half Day PM Week 3: June Week 8: July This half-day camp focuses on building soccer skills, gaining confidence and having fun! From dribbling to shooting and all things in between, campers will improve their game through a variety of activities and drills. Each day will include an exciting twist on the game of soccer. 1-4 pm $115 a week, Y members pay $95 Golf Camp* Week 4: June Week 7: July 9-13 Week 9: July Come join our golf camp! Learn the etiquette of golf and how to drive, chip and putt. On Monday-Thursday, campers will work with a golf pro who will evaluate each golfer s abilities and focus on areas in need of improvement. Campers will learn skills like blocking, bumping, setting, serving and hitting. The kids will play scrimmages and learn great tactics. 9 am-12 pm $115 a week, Y members pay $95 Y Spirit Dance/Cheer Camp Half Day PM Week 5: June At Y Spirit Camp, campers will learn cheerleading and dance team basics. Important life skills such as team building and leadership will be taught through fun games and activities. 5 FITNESS CAMPS TWEEN AND TEEN CAMPS 9 am - 4 pm 9 am - 4 pm Teen Favorites Let s Dance Explore the fabulous city of St. Louis with daily field trips. We will be visiting teen favorites in and around St. Louis! Week 3: June Fun activities, crafts and TONS of dancing will all be explored and practiced. We ll add lots of different dance styles with a performance on Friday for parents and friends! $195 a week, Y members pay $165 Recipe for Health Week 4: June In this camp we will practice making tasty AND healthy meals and snacks. We will check out your favorite family recipes and see if we can make them healthier and create some new favorites! We ll compile a cookbook of our good works to sell in the lobby! $195 a week, Y members pay $165 Strength and Conditioning Week 5: June Ages 9-14 Week 8: July Ages 9-14 Week 10: July 30-August 3 Ages 9-14 This camp will help you get stronger and healthier! Led primarily by a personal trainer, each aspect of fitness; strength, endurance, cardio vascular fitness, flexibility and body composition will all be addressed in a fun and interesting way! Body weight and basic fitness tools will be used in addition to some time in the pool and on the track! $195 a week, Y members pay $165 Week 5: June Ages $220 a week, Y members pay $200 For a Better Us Week 7: July 9-13 Ages Interested in learning how to give back to your community? In this camp, teens will be given the opportunity to serve the STL community. From volunteering to service projects, coordinating a fundraiser and all things in between, teens in this camp will experience the Y cause first hand. $220 a week, Y members pay $200 5@Six* Week 9: July Ages Teens will spend five fabulous days at Six Flags, spending two of those days at Hurricane Harbor Water Park! A season pass to Six Flags is included in the fee of this camp. 6 DRAMA & PERFORMANCE CAMPS 9 am - 4 pm Magical Mystery Camp* Week 1: May 29-June 1 What do you get when you combine theater and magic into one camp? Introducing Magical Mystery Camp! Your kids will learn new magic tricks each day, often treating their parents to a nightly show! Campers will weave their tricks into a mystery show, which they will create and perform the last day for their families! In learning magic, theater, and improv, your kids will develop their presentation skills and confidence while having a lot of fun in the process! Curriculum is new from the past two summers. $184 for four days, Y members pay $168 (No camp on May 28) Actor s Studio* Weeks 2-5: June 4-29 Spend four weeks rehearsing a stage adaptation of Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook by Alison Gregory. Camp ends with a weekend of performances. Performances are June 29 and 30 at 7:30 pm and July 1 at 3 pm. All campers must enroll in all four weeks. $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Broadway Boot Camp Week 6: July 2-3, 5-6 Week 10: July 30-August 3 Get a taste of the bright lights and the big city! We will spend the week going over the theatre basics such as auditions, theatre games, singing and dancing for the stage and much more! This a great camp for rising stars of all experience levels. Both weeks will have new and different activities! Week 6 $140 a week, Y members pay $116 (Prorated fee; no camp on July 4) Week 10 $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Act it Out Weeks 7-8 July 9-20 Campers spend two weeks writing, making costumes and sets, and acting out a play they have written. Camp will end with a Friday afternoon performance for campers and families. This camp is great for actors of all skill levels. Must enroll in both weeks. $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Improv Camp Week 9: July Ages Spend a week playing theatre and improv games! Improvisation or improv for short is a great skill for all budding performers as it helps bring honesty to performances. It is also a great skill for anyone who has to speak in public or in front of large groups. This camp will teach the FUNdamentals of improv through instruction, games, and in camp performances. $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Please note that occasionally camp scheduling and content are subject to change. Vanish a raft in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle! Use your magic to help David defeat Goliath! Want to learn magic? And develop presentation skills & confidence before an audience? Then this camp is for you! Amaze family & friends with new, quick-tolearn tricks you bring home daily! Plus you ll learn balloon twisting, comedy routines, magic puzzles. You ll create your own stories to enhance your tricks. Put on a family show the last day! All new tricks from previous years. $230 a week, Y members pay $210 CAMP KEY SUN = held outside Circus Stars* Week 11: August 6-10 Walk on stilts! Ride a unicycle! Balance on a rolla bolla board! These are just a few of the exciting skills you ll learn in Circus Stars Camp! You ll learn juggling, plate spinning, clown acts, animal balloons, and much more! Plus, we are introducing some brand new juggling and balancing skills this year! 8 FUN CLUB Before & After Camp Extended Care Ages 5-14 Before Care: 6:30 am 9 am After Care: 4 pm 6 pm Extended Care is a program which runs before and after normal camp hours. This program helps meet the needs of working parents/ guardians. Children may select activities from four different interest areas, such as a sports activity, creative arts activity, table games or small group games. Offered weeks 1-11 for all camps. Before Care Fee: $50/week, Y members pay $35 After Care Fee: $50/week, Y members pay $35 Before and After Care Fee: $85 a week, Y members pay $60 FUN CLUB SWIM Ages 5-12 Monday-Thursday 5:15-6 pm Campers can take swim lessons Monday-Thursday after camp in two-week sessions.. Aquatic staff will pick up campers at Fun Club at 5:15 pm. Camper pickup is at 6 pm in the aquatic area. 9 OUTDOOR ADVENTURE & TRAVELING CAMPS 9 am - 4 pm COME TO LEARN RETURN TO SERVE YMCA Central Leaders School is an exciting, supportive week for teens to learn about themselves. Illinois College July 15 21, 2018 Schools Out Week 1: May 29-June 1 Start your summer off with a blast! We will discover all that St. Louis has to offer. Each day we will go on a new adventure. You may catch us at Forest Park or Pump It Up! $164 a week, Y members pay $140 (No camp on May 28) Great Outdoors Week 4: June If you enjoy hiking, spelunking, fishing, wild animals, talking with naturalists, and swimming then this the camp for you! Join us and you ll sharpen your outdoor adventure skills. We will visit local parks in the St. Louis area. Daily field trips! $205 a week, Y members pay $175 Gone Fishing Week 6: July 2-3, 5-6 Ages 8-12 CALLING ALL ANGLERS! Get ready to catch big catfish and bass. We are going to lakes that are loaded with hungry fish. After you have caught your monster fish we will lounge around a local swim park and talk about the ones that got away. $164 for 4 days, Y members pay $140 (No camp on July 4) Water Park Hop Week 8: July Ages 6-14 Ages Come explore various water parks around the St. Louis area. Spend the morning in a traditional camp setting and each afternoon at a different water park. All campers should bring a plain white t-shirt on the first day for tie dye. We will end the week with a trip to Six Flags Amusement Park. (We will not be going to Hurricane Harbor.) $205 a week, Y members pay $185 Fun Around Town Week 11: August 6-10 End the summer with an adventure! Campers will visit area attractions every day. We will at places like the Saint Louis Zoo, bowling, swimming and more. $205 a week, Y members pay $175 CAMP KEY SUN = held outside BUS = weekly field trip WAVE = swimming OUTDOOR ADVENTURE &TRAVELING CAMPS For teens completing grades 6-12, are active in a Leaders Club or other service opportunities at their local YMCA or community. 10 SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS 9 am - 4 pm Baker s Dozen Week 1: May 29-June 1 Week 7: July 9-13 This camp will cover Baking 101. Your baker will learn fundamentals such as kitchen safety and recipe reading. The week will conclude with a dessert party and bake sale for parents. Week 1: $156 for 4 days, Y members pay $132 (No camp on May 28) Week 7: $195 a week, Y members pay $165 Harry Potter Week 2: June 6-8 Ages 7-11 Calling all witches and wizards who love everything Harry Potter! After being sorted your houses we will be making magical brew and wizardly potions. All to be recorded in our homemade spell books! We will end the week with a tri-wizard tournament. $195 a week, Y members pay $165 HERE S TO GETTING AWAY. Y Member Special At YMCA Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood, we celebrate each trail ride, campfire and cannonball. Learn the basics about etiquette, hair, make up and nutrition. Strut down the runway for a fashion show at the end of the week. Swimming plus traditional camp activities and a field trip to the American Girl Doll Store will round out the week for your favorite little lady. $195 a week, Y members pay $165 It s a Girl Thing Week 2: June 4-8 This camp is all about girls. Campers will create arts and crafts, make jewelry, dance to favorite music, hula dance, make new BFFs and more! 11 Counselor In Training (CIT) CITs ages will be provided with a hands-on experience working with young campers and the opportunity to cultivate their skills and knowledge in the day camp setting. CIT application, interview, training and a 4-week commitment required. $150 Fee Applications are available on our website and at the YMCA welcome center. Outdoor Rangers Camps Play, Learn, Serve, Work Outdoors Camp Fees: $160 Members Pay Only: $140 Includes Fun Club** The Gateway Region Y, in continued partnership with the U.S. National Park Service, Missouri State Parks, U.S. Fish and Wild Life Service and Army Corps of Engineers is excited to continue offering 5 weeks of fun and educational camp opportunities. All programming is subject to Mother Nature s rules (weather permitting). These camps are based at the South City Family YMCA, from 9 am 4 pm. Rookie Rangers Rookies is an introduction to the adventures of the Outdoor Ranger Camps. Join us in Ranger adventures of hiking, water safety, fishing, archery, outdoor survival skills and cave exploration. Ages 5-7. Week 3: June Trail Rangers Hiking, riding, paddling and cycling the scenic trails of Missouri. Hike the Don Robinson State Park trails. Bike the trails in Route 66 St. Park (20 in 1 speed bikes available, may bring own bike). Paddle the Riverlands Water Trail and saddle up and ride a horse at our own Trout Lodge. Week 4: June Water Rangers All things water! Paddle, fish, macro netting and cave exploration is waiting for our Water Rangers. Are you ready to test your paddle skills at our Cuivre River State Park? Join us for some water fun. Week 5: June City Rangers Be a tourist in your own hometown! See the city in a whole new way as we explore the gems that make St. Louis such a great place to live. Highlights include the Gateway Arch, Old Court House, the Missouri Botanical Garden, Forest Park and U.S. Grant National Historic Site! Week 7: July 9-13 Extreme Rangers Do you have what it takes to be an Extreme Ranger? Put your outdoor adventure skills to the test. Mountain biking at Castlewood State Park, climb and rappel your way through the course at Trout Lodge. Paddle your way on float trip and overnight at Meramec St. Park. Ages Week 8: July 16-20

12 CHECK IT OFF REGISTRATION CHECKLIST When registering, remember to complete the following: Completely fill out enrollment packet, which includes: Camp Registration Information Enrollment forms EFT form Supply Immunization records for Preschool Campers only And, if applicable, supply: IEP, BIP, or 504 Plan including additional Inclusion Services forms Chronic Health paperwork DFS/CHASI approval letter Financial Assistance approval letter Read the Family Handbook Pay $25 deposits for each week registered for camp Pay $5 deposit for each week of Fun Club Before or After Camp Care, $10 deposit for each week of Fun Club Before & After Camp Care and $5 deposit for each week of Fun Club Swim. Please note: All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. All forms necessary for registration can be downloaded from our website, www. gwrymca.org/chesterfield or picked up at the Chesterfield Family YMCA. Online registration for camp is available. Please note: Registrations made online do not complete your child s registration process and additional forms are required. These forms are available on our branch website or can be picked up at the Welcome Center. Completed forms and signed family handbook must be turned in to the branch no later than two weeks prior to your child s first day of camp. Autodraft is the preferred method of payment. You can pay for each week of camp by the specified deadlines as stated in your Family Handbook. Payment options include; online or at the Welcome Center. Methods of payment accepted are cash, check, credit, debit, or money order. INCLUSION SERVICES The YMCA provides inclusive programming and reasonable accommodations for all of our program participants. Completed forms must be submitted to the YMCA branch a minimum of two weeks prior to your child s expected camp start date. Factors effecting your child s start date could include: late enrollment, submission of incomplete or out-of-date paperwork, and availability of appropriate staff to help facilitate your child s successful participation in the program. Forms are processed in the order received. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW First Day to Register Summer Camp registration will begin on Tuesday, December 26. For more information or to help send another child to camp by making a donation to the Y s Annual Campaign, call (636) Age 5 Campers All children ages 5 and up may attend a full day camp program provided they have completed a full day educational environment for at least one year prior to enrollment in day camp programs. No naps provided. Five-year-old attendance will be evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure positive camp experience and child s readiness for full-day activities. Camp is based upon chronological age, not developmental age. We may request that a birth certificate be presented for age 5 campers if needed. 22 Register at Register early and save 23
