3 PRESCHOOL SUMMER ENRICHMENT Ages am - 12 pm Offered camp weeks 1-10, Preschool Summer Enrichment is the perfect place for your little one to learn the importance of our YMCA core values; Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our trained counselors will guide campers through crafts, daily swimming, daily time outdoors in our Wild West Community Garden, gymnasium time on select days, games and other fun activities. We will also have story time, snack and stations each day. Some of our stations include sensory play, fine motor skill development and gross motor skills. We want your child to leave camp with memories that last a lifetime. All campers must be toilet trained. Each day we will cover a book, have crafts, play games, have outside or gym time, and swim. $95 a week, Y members pay $75 (No camp on Memorial Day) Mini Garden Explorers Week 2: June 4-June 8 This camp is for all dirt digging, vegetable growing, and outdoor loving campers! Learn the basics of planting and growing with our master gardener and try new and nutritious fresh fruits and veggies! Plant real plants that you get to take home and have fun learning all about bugs! We will even start our own worm village! Community Helpers Week 3: June Learn all about some of the real-life heroes that live here in our community! Meet police officers, write thank-you letters, and take a family field trip to visit our local fire station to meet firefighters and learn what they do for our community. Pretty Princesses and Little Knights Week 4: June Discover the beauty of the princess within! This week we will have a PJ party, tea party, and a ball at the end of the week for our princesses and knights to attend! Feel free to dress up every day this week as we explore the world of royalty with crafts, games, and play. Super Heroes Week 5: June Calling all super boys and super girls! If you have always dreamed of being a superhero then this is the camp for you! We will participate in superhero crafts and swimming every day. Parents, please join us Friday for our super hero parade through the Y. Very Hungry Camper Week 6: July 2-3, July 5-6 This week we will explore the art and stories of Eric Carle. Each day we will cover a book, have a craft, play a game, and swim. We will even work on making our very own art books! $95 a week, Y members pay only $75 (No camp on July 4) Around the World Week 7: July 9-July 13 We will learn all about other cultures and countries! We will try foods, make crafts, and read stories from all over the world. We will adventure across the world while collecting stamps for our passports of each place we visit, have outdoor/gym play time each day, and swim! Peewee Sports Week 8: July 16-July 20 Calling all rookie athletes! If you have a young athlete, we want them to show off their talent here at camp! This camp is for all beginning athletes to become more familiar with the fundamentals of many different sports such as throwing, catching, kicking, dribbling, and running. Mini Chefs Week 9: July 23-July 27 Does your little camper love to bake cookies or play in the kitchen? Then this camp is for them! In Mini Chefs Camp, we will learn all about flavors, trying new things, and how to prepare some of our favorite foods. We will make our own pizza using ingredients we picked from the garden as well as many other treats! Peewee Picasso Paint, sculpt, draw and create as we work on our fine motor skills! We will work with many different mediums and styles of art this week! Save your home from mess and let the campers enjoy team building, creating, and fun as a camper! Register early and save 5

4 TRADITIONAL CAMPS Ages am - 4 pm Offered throughout the summer, Traditional Camp is designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips and more. Camps are themed weekly. Most activities will be held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers will be divided into groups by grade level that they are entering in the fall, with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group. Traditional camps will swim in our pool multiple times a week and participate in a weekly field trip. Note that daily plans may change, based on weather. Traditional Camp Fee: $170/week Y Members Pay: $140/week (except where noted otherwise) Happening Holidays Week 1: May 29-June 1 That is right! A different holiday every day! Come have fun hiding and finding eggs for an Easter egg hunt, baking Christmas cookies, dressing up for Halloween, and making valentines! We will have all kinds of crafts, games, and fun this week. $160 a week, Y members pay $130 (No camp on Memorial Day) Secret Agents 1 Week 2: June 4-June 8 Are you a mystery master? Do you love surprises? Then use your detective skills in our Secret Agents spy camp. We will have scavenger hunts and decode secret messages. Garden Adventures Week 3: June 11-June 15 Through this seed-to-table experience, campers will learn all about growing food and pollinator plants. They will have handson experiences in the Wild West Community Garden while harvesting foods, digging for worms, tasting new things from the garden, and making crafts. We will also visit the Shaw Nature Reserve this week. Wacky Science Week 4: June 18-June 22 Ready for some summertime science? Explore the science all around us by doing some wacky experiments as you become a camp scientist! Can You Survive It? Week 5: June 25-June 29 Can your team survive it? Create team flags and compete in exciting and fun challenges such as ultimate Frisbee, water balloon free-for-all, and a talent show. Messy Olympics Week 6: July 2-3, July 5-6 Join us as we kick-off the Olympic games of slime, slop, goop, goo, and gunk. Campers will compete and play games designed to be messy. $160 a week, Y members pay $130 (No camp on July 4) SUN = held outside BUS = weekly field trip WAVE = swimming 60 Second Winner Week 7: July 9-July 13 Do you like fun challenges? Then this is the camp for you! We will host small challenges all week long. The difficulty of the games will increase as the day goes on and some will support teamwork through group challenges while other challenges will allow you to shine solo. Around the World Week 8: July 16-July 20 Get your passport stamped as we travel around the world visiting different cultures, countries, and customs through games, crafts, and foods. Wacky Water Week Week 9: July 23-July 27 Join us for a week enjoying water games and challenges. We will have hula hoop games, water balloon madness, and a watermelon contest with luau on Friday. Secret Agents 2 Decipher codes, go on scavenger hunts, and find your inner spy. Campers will have fun working as a team to race against the clock to solve the Wildwood YMCA mystery! 5 SPORTS CAMPS Ages am - 4 pm Sports camps offer youth specialized sports training and are designed to teach sports skills, fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship while reinforcing the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Sports play will be separated by age. Sports camps will take weekly field trips on Wednesdays. Sports Camp Fee: $170/week Y Members Pay: $140/week (except where noted otherwise) CAMP KEY SUN = held outside BUS = weekly field trip WAVE = swimming Kickball Week 1: May 29-June 1 Campers will learn to play kickball as well as participate in multiple variations of indoor and outdoor kickball throughout the week. $160 a week, Y members pay $130 (No camp on Memorial Day) Scottish Games and Archery Week 2: June 4-June 8 Campers will have so much fun learning new and exciting games from other countries while having a focus on archery and getting to practice throughout the week. Hip Hop Dance & Gymnastics* Week 3: June Campers will learn to dance, step, and sway all to a hip hop beat this week! We will also be taking a field trip to a gymnastics studio where campers will be able to try out beams, balance bars, and trampolines for gymnastics. $185/ Members pay only $150 Volleyball Week 4: June 18-June 22 Calling all campers to come and bump, set, and spike! We will practice serving, setting, hitting and spiking, and we will go over rules. We will have fun participating in scrimmages and drills. Swimming every day. Flag Football Week 5: June 25-June 29 Touchdown! Non-contact skills: running, passing, receiving, blocking and kicking games all while working on offense/ defense skills. We will have fun participating in scrimmages and drills. Tennis* Week 6: July 2-3, July 5-6 This week Campers will enjoy going to Tennis Courts and playing scrimmages and practicing swings. Learn the basic rules and have fun playing matches! $175 a week, Y members pay $145 (No camp on July 4) Basketball Week 8: July Become a triple threat. Learn dribbling, shooting, passing and playing proper defense. Swim every day. Golf* Week 9: July Learn the fundamentals of golf! Have fun traveling to golf courses via field trips to work on your holes in one. 6 SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS are designed to offer activities focused on a particular interest or interest group, learning or progressive opportunity while incorporating overall traditional Y camp principles. Examples include art, cooking and other activities. Camp size may be smaller in nature and camps may be offered either indoors or outdoors based on the specified interest. 9 am - 4 pm Special Interest camps will take weekly field trips. Destinations will be finalized in Spring The Sorting Hat Week 3: June 11-June 15 Ages 6-12 Get sorted into houses and compete in games with your house! We will make butterbeer, swim, have team activities, and crafts. We will also listen to the Harry Potter audiobook for 1-2 hours broken up through each day in order to complete the entire first book of the series! Readers and book lovers welcome! $170 a week, Y members pay $140 Camp Happy Tails Week 4: June 18-June 22 Ages 7-13 Camp Happy Tails is for boys and girls who love animals. This hands-on camp will allow children to give back to our furry friends by making fleece blankets, creating sock animals, and baking treats for homeless or in-need animals. This is a service oriented camp where we will be building community service hours and striving to give back to man s best friend. $175 a week, Y members pay $145 Baking and Cake Decorating* Week 1: May 29-June 1 Ages 8-14 Do you love to bake, decorate, or eat cupcakes? Then this is the camp for you! We will learn the basics of baking and cake/ cupcake decorating in this camp. At the end of the week we will also have our own mini cupcake challenge! $170 a week, Y members pay $140 (No camp on Memorial Day) Space Rebels Week 2: June 4-8 Explore the adventures of space! Your Jr. Jedi Knight or Pint-Sized Princess Leia will be busy doing all things Star Wars this week. Activities include space crafts, blue milk, anti-gravity pool swimming practice, and learning the ways of the force. $170 a week, Y members pay $140 Museum Adventures Week 6: July 2-3, July 5-6 Ages 9-15 Open up your mind as we visit the St. Louis area s topnotch museums. This amazing week of hands-on learning includes trips to a different museum each day, including museums that will teach us about history, art, and the sciences. At the end of the week we will visit the City Museum! We will make chocolate treats, play games, swim, and even go on a field trip to a real chocolate factory! We will also listen to the audio book for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory throughout the week in 30 minute time periods to result in the complete audio book of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by the end of the week! $180 a week, Y members pay $150 Historic Explorers Week 8: July 16-July 20 Ages 7-13 Join us for Historic Explorers! We will travel to historical sites in St. Louis and learn all about some of the great landmarks and buildings that St. Louis is known for. We will travel to St. Charles Historic District and learn about Lewis and Clark, and we will travel to the Arch and visit the New Expansion Museum, as well as have fun swimming and doing crafts! $185 a week, Y members pay $160 Little Chefs* Week 9: July Stir things up in the kitchen with nutritious kid-friendly recipes! We will cook fun and exciting things based on a theme, swim, and have crafts each day! $180 a week, Y members pay $150 STEM Camp* Ages 9-14 This week will be all about incorporating STEM into fun activities! Practice building structures and creating objects to prove that science, engineering, technology, and math can be fun and exciting! Take a field trip to Boeing to see how these skills are applied in real life! $180 a week, Y members pay $150 Artist Studio: Photo & Paint* Ages 8-14 Do you want to learn more about photography or painting with a brush? Then this is the camp for you! In this camp we will try out many different styles and mediums of painting such as water color, oil, and acrylic. We will also escape into the great outdoors to capture moments with our cameras. AQUATICS CAMPS 9 am - 4 pm Aquatics camps will take weekly field trips to be announced in Spring Aqua Kids 1 and 2 Week 5: June 25-June 29 In Aqua Kids Camp, we focus on beginning to learn to swim and improving existing skills. Campers will learn to back float, front, back and side paddle as well as master some basic fundamentals of swimming. At noon, campers will join Traditional Camp for the remainder of the day. $170 a week, Y members pay $140 Water Park Hop 1, 2, and 3 Week 3: June 11-June 15 Week 7: July 9-July 13 Week 11: August 6-August 10 That s right, a different water park every day! 9 FUN CLUB Before & After Camp Extended Care Ages 5-15 Before Care: 7 am 9 am After Care: 4 pm 6 pm Extended Care is a program that runs before and after regular camp hours. This program helps meet the needs of working parents/ guardians. Children may select activities from four different interest areas, such as a sports activity, creative arts activity, table games or free play. Morning and Afternoon Fee: $80 a week Y members pay $60 a week Morning or Afternoon Fee: $45 a week Y members pay $35 a week AM Fun Club Garden Ages 5-13 Monday-Friday, 8 am - 9 am Week 3: June Week 5: June Week 8: July Have fun in our Community Garden learning all about how to grow and sustain our very own food! Help pick, plant and grow produce for the food pantry and to taste. We will make smoothies, make nature and garden related crafts, and plant our own vegetables to take home. This camp is all about adventuring and having fun! We will go bowling, putt-putt golfing, and swimming at a water park! We will also have some separate girl time where we will have a PJ party and some guy time where we will try archery along with many other fun activities! $200 a week, Y members pay $170 Tween Cuisine* Week 8: July Ages 9-15 Smother your taste buds in this culinary adventure full of fun, food, and nutrition with age-appropriate recipes. We will also have swimming and crafts every day and a special cook-off challenge on Friday (just like on some of your favorite cooking shows!) $180 a week, Y members pay $150 Outdoor Adventure Week 9: July If you love being outside and enjoy the beautiful gift of nature, this camp is for you! We will learn about and explore multiple state and national parks in our own backyards. 11 Counselor In Training (CIT) CITs ages will be provided with a hands-on experience working with young campers and the opportunity to cultivate their skills and knowledge in the day camp setting. CIT application, interview, training and a 4-week commitment required. $150 Fee Applications are available on our website and at the YMCA welcome center. 12 CHECK IT OFF REGISTRATION CHECKLIST When registering, remember to complete the following: Completely fill out enrollment packet, which includes: Camp Registration Information Enrollment forms EFT form Supply Immunization records for Preschool Campers only And, if applicable, supply: IEP, BMP, or 504 Plan including additional Inclusion Services forms Chronic Health paperwork DFS/CHASI approval letter Financial Assistance approval letter Read the Family Handbook Pay $30 deposits for each week registered for camp All forms necessary for registration can be downloaded from our website, www. gwrymca.org/wildwood or picked up at the Wildwood Family YMCA. Online registration for camp is available. Please note: Registrations made online do not complete your child s registration process and additional forms are required. These forms are available on our branch website or can be picked up at the Welcome Center. Completed forms and signed family handbook must be turned in to the branch no later than two weeks prior to your child s first day of camp. Autodraft is the preferred method of payment. You can pay for each week of camp by the specified deadlines as stated in your Family Handbook. Payment options include; online or at the Welcome Center. Methods of payment accepted are cash, check, credit, debit, or money order. Please be aware of these fees: Register by the Wednesday before camp to avoid a late fee of $20 when registering Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Please note that, occasionally, camp before the start of camp and a late scheduling field trips and content are fee of $25 when registering Monday, subject to change due to ratios, inclement the day camp begins. The camp-to-camp weather, and unforeseen events or transfer fee is $15. circumstances. We will do our best to notify parents when these changes occur. INCLUSION SERVICES The YMCA provides inclusive programming and reasonable accommodations for all of our program participants. Factors effecting your child s start date could include: late enrollment, submission of incomplete or out-of-date paperwork, and availability of appropriate staff to help facilitate your child s successful participation in the program. Forms are processed in the order received. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW First Day to Register Summer Camp registration will begin on Tuesday, December 26. For more information or to help send another child to camp by making a donation to the Y s Annual Campaign, call (636) Age 5 Campers All children ages 5 and up may attend a full day camp program provided they have completed a full day educational environment for at least one year prior to enrollment in day camp programs. No naps provided. Five-year-old attendance will be evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure positive camp experience and child s readiness for full-day activities.
