1 This Week at Camp RELAY RESULTS Red Nose Relay Everyone nose that Thursday afternoon was the Red Nose Relay at Camp Big Top/Little Top. Who nose who won; it was snot close. The winners were: 1 st Place - Lilla A. / Sofia F. / Haley D. 2 nd Place - Brina I. / Kylie F. / Jane D. 3 rd Place - Abby S. / Alexis T. / Chloe G. 4 th Place - Matt L. / Sam M. / Alex M. Pie In The Face Contest Friday the entire camp will participate in the Pie in the Face Contest. The object is to be as creative as possible by getting the pie down the runway, 25 feet from the starting line, and deliver it right into a counselor s face. This relay will be held Friday afternoon, August 4, Look for results in an coming soon to you!

2 EVENTS All Camp Summer Blast Thursday the Toppers loaded up the busses and headed to Sunset Park for a morning of games, inflatable jumpers, slides, and popsicles. Everyone had a good time! Last Week at Camp Far Away Tee Shirt Contest Last Thursday the campers wore their far away tee shirts. We had shirts from everywhere, Why, Arizona to Whynot, North Carolina Amerigo Vespucci Golden navigator award winner, Ethan Holleman, hosted the event. After Ethan taught us that Great Plains are not 747s and Air Bus 380s. The winners were: AWARDS 1 st Place - Lindsey D. 2 nd Place - Olga S. 3 rd Place - Rosie K. 4 th Place - Sophie K. This One Takes The (Cup)Cake Award For giving the sparkling performance of the Week! Will be given to the camper has put forth extra effort in the performance of one or more of the circus disciplines. Last week s winner was: Rosie K. Dripping With Swee(a)t Award Helper of the Week Will be given to the camper that shows helpfulness, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, good citizenship, and always helping their fellow campers and counselors to pick up and put away the equipment at the end of the day. Last week s winner was: Jagger B.

3 The Bozo of the Week Award The Bozo of the week award is our effort to encourage the circus spirit among the Big Top/Little Top campers. Campers will be given a ticket on Friday if they have demonstrated the spirit of Big Top/Little Top. All ticket stubs with the camper s names will be placed in the magic circus bag and three names will be drawn for a special prize each week. Last week s winner was: Quinn B. / Ashley R. / Haley D. This week s winner is: EVERYONE!!! The Shoveler of the Week Award For getting the Scoop on Poop! Will be given to a camper, on various weeks, who helps with the clean up of our horses. Last week s winner was: Sofia F. AG 47 Silver Anniversary Box Each week selected campers will have the chance to open the AG 47 Silver Anniversary Box and periodically find out the element of surprise, if they find the right key. Last week s winner was: Olga S. The Jay Fedora Best Bad Joke of the Week Tell Jay a joke that is funnier than one of his own. Not hard to do! Last week s winner was: Lindsey D. A Letter from Gary Well, it s been another great summer! We put on a great show and had a lot of fun. We learned how to juggle, walk on stilts, climbed the silks, and practiced many other circus skills. We learned a lot about silver and we even survived the Great Flood of July 2017, but most of all; we did a lot clowning around. For the past ten summers, we have had the great opportunity to bareback ride with our good friends Tosca Zoppé and Jay Walther. We marched in the 4 th of July parade. We had our Big Top/Little Top Silver Anniversary Clown University graduation where every camper earned their diploma and got to pick their nose!

4 The entire camp competed in the 25 th Silver Anniversary Olympics. Each week we gave out three Bozo of the Week Awards, This One Takes The (Cup) Cake performance of the week award, and The Dripping With Swee(a)t Award for always helping out. We tried to open the AG 47 Silver Anniversary Box each week to learn what the element of surprise was. We also had the Jay Fedora Award for the best worst joke in camp, and the coveted Shoveler of the Week Award. I would like to thank all the campers and parents for making this a great 25 th Anniversary summer! A big thanks to my Assistant Director Amy Blank and the rest of my staff for going out of their way and doing a great job; Kate Lewis, Sam Magnani, Ethan Holleman, Kendall Werhane, Lauren Deer, Nick Kirsh, Tim Steves, Rachel Hsu, Veronica Mayer, and Michaela Marshall. Another big thank you to our aerial specialist - Tera McBlaine, juggling specialist - Sam Simon, and Hula Hoop expert - Sylvi Sylvester. Thank you to Diane Jerklin, to our team nurse - Holly and our bus drivers Libby and Jerome. It s hard to believe that today is the last day of camp. I hope you have a good end of summer and a great year at school. I ll see you in 45 weeks on Monday, June 18, 2018 for our first walk on the wire, when we will start on our next 50 years.
