2 Camp Themes / Descriptions for Base Camp and Summit Camp Activities for campers in Summit Camp will be enhanced to compliment their grade levels. Week 1 ~ Mine Craft Week: Offered for the first time, campers will build, explore and enter into the world of adventure like never before. Campers will work in teams and with their camp counselors to build life-size architecture and fantastical designs. This week is especially geared to helping campers feel good about themselves and building friendships. Like all Camp D.A.S.H. kick-off weeks, this week begins with a Star Wars themed party and ends with a Toy Story. Week 2 ~ Critter Kingdom Week: Fuzzy or furry / slippery or slimy, they re all coming to visit this week. Critters of all sizes will make their way to camp (with their handlers) so that we can revel in their magnificence. From cute little critters to a giant snake, campers will touch animals that they may have never encountered before. Campers will not only learn about the animal kingdom, but will explore wildlife conservation and species facing extinction. Week 3 ~ Splash and Dash ~ Water Week is Back! From swirl tie-die t-shirts to an endless supply of water balloons, camp gets wet and campers get soaked! Our most popular themed week brings together campers and counselors in relays of fun and endless surprises. Get the squirters out and crank up the water hose..nobody stays dry! This is a shortened week due to the 4 th of July Holiday. In an effort to make up for the lost day (Monday, July 4 th ), campers will be provided with a pizza lunch on Tuesday that includes a beverage and ice cream sundae bar. They will also receive a tie die Camp D.A.S.H. t-shirt. Guest visitors from Project O will lead campers in an interactive learning experience about the ocean and fish. Week 4 ~ Under the Sea: Sharks, whales, and octopus oh my! Join us as we explore life under the sea and at the beach. A Mighty Neptune Challenge Course will lead campers to a treasure chest of surprises and unbelievable discoveries. During Week 4, we make our way to the beach two times for extra fun and a sandcastle competition. You never know what you ll find under the sea! Week 5 ~ Into the Wild: This week will lead campers to adventures that are WILD! The week starts off with food challenges and ends with a camp-out. Campers will enjoy making safari art and going on a nature hike. A blood hound who uses his nose to solve crimes will be a featured guest that just about anybody will be wild over! The week also includes celebrating birthdays..everyone is celebrated with cake and ice cream! Week 6 ~ Shark Tank Water Week: SUPER-SOAK ALERT! It s a pool party without the pool! Homemade sprinklers, Minute to Win It, water piñatas and a shark party! We will also explore a multitude of science experiments that involve water. Water will color the camp world when a guest artist comes in to show campers how to make their very own ice masterpieces. From fun to soaked, this week will be an unforgettable shark tale! Week 7 ~ Rio De Janeiro Olympic Gold: Let the games begin! Campers will participate in a variety of events from volleyball to a torch relay to a basketball tournament between camper / counselor teams. We will also travel the world to learn about the traditions of other countries and have a taste-testing party from foods of the world. The Amazing Race and a special visit from some golden oldies will bring the week to an end with a bunch of new friends! Week 8 ~ Frozen in Time: We could only wish that camp would never have to end, but this week camp comes to a magical close. A magician makes his way to camp to leave us mesmerized by his tricks. A retro-themed costume party will provide one camper with an unforgettable prize for best costume. By mid-week, a storm rages in that seems like a blizzard but tastes like flavored ice and sounds like Elsa from Frozen when she makes a guest appearance. Time capsules will be prepared and stored away and guest visitors will take us back in time. Camp closes with a farm on wheels. Information on Weekly Themes for ~ NEXT PAGE ~
