3 I love fall. This may seem unexpected coming from a summer camp manager, but it s true. I love fall because it reminds me of being a little girl, not unlike your girl, anxiously awaiting the new summer camp guide in our mailbox. I eagerly marked up the pages, highlighting each camp I wanted to attend before my mom and I narrowed it down to that perfect choice. Whether camping on my own, with a friend, or as a family, I was so eager because to me, going to Girl Scout camp each summer felt like going home. We want to provide that same feeling for your girl next summer. Girl Scout camp provides a safe environment where, guided by highly-qualified staff and volunteers, your girl will make new friends and find leadership opportunities based in the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts dedication to progression in outdoor programming means that your girl will practice age-appropriate skills and gain the experience she needs to feel confident taking the next step in her outdoor journey. No matter what her level of experience, comfort or knowledge is now, we invite your girl to join us! Not quite ready for an overnight? Try one of over 20 volunteer-led day camps! Not ready for an overnight alone or for an entire week? Explore the option of a four day classic overnight camp, or go together to one of our friends and family camps offered at each site. Is she ready for a challenge? Discover what the multi-week leadership programs are all about! No matter the program, your girl will come home with new friends, bolstered confidence, leadership and outdoor skills and a lifetime of memories that you made possible all by giving her the gift of summer camp. We want the experience of camp to be possible for everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. Financial assistance is available for some day camps and all overnight camps explore your options today! For more information see the financial assistance section of How to Register on page 26. To learn more about our summer camp programs I invite you to attend one of our Summer Camp 101 sessions (see information to the left), overnight camp open houses (see camp-specific information on pages 12, 16 or 20), or to contact me directly at aroberts@girlscoutsosw.org or (800) ext Yours in Girl Scouting, Allie Roberts Outdoor Program Manager 2

No matter which camp location your girl chooses, all overnight camp sessions provide programming that allows your girl to focus on building skills and confidence in her areas of interest, while enjoying all that camp has to offer. While climbing the rock wall, she may be overcoming a fear and stepping out of her comfort zone. While her counselor teaches her how to make a friendship bracelet, she is learning how to be a positive role model and good leader. While she is participating in all the fun activities that might otherwise be out of reach in her everyday life, camp will provide her with a place all her own to gain the skills, confidence and growth experience you are hoping for. Tiered pricing can be adjusted after registration if requested. The balance of the camp fee is due three weeks before the opening day of the camp session you have chosen. Is transportation available to and from camp? Transportation is not available to and from camp and we are unable to provide carpooling resources. When dropping your girl off, you have the golden opportunity to see where she will be enjoying her time at camp and to meet camp staff. You will receive directions to camp in your confirmation . See Can parents/guardians visit the camp? on the page 29 for more details. Can you accommodate my camper s medical/dietary needs? Absolutely! We want to help your girl have a GREAT time at camp. Understanding her needs before she arrives will help us provide her with the best possible camp experience. Please be sure to list any medical conditions, special needs, behavioral needs, allergies, and dietary restrictions on the Camper Health History/Release form during registration. Please contact us at activities@girlscoutsosw.org as soon as possible to discuss special accommodations needed for your camper. What do meals look like at camp? Campers enjoy family style meals served twice daily in the dining hall, and a third meal is packed up and eaten at a location chosen by the cabin group.
