2 Decatur Family YMCA Camp Sokkia Welcome to the Best Summer Ever Camp Sokkia is where kids go to make new friends, discover hidden talents and have the most fun ever! We are so excited for another summer of adventure at Camp Sokkia. The Decatur Family YMCA has been hosting summer camps for over 100 years, so we understand summer camp is about making memories that will last a lifetime. Our camp exposes children to outdoor adventures, art, science and sports. Drop off for camp begins at 6:30 a.m. and pick-up ends at 6 p.m. Our campers take part in a summer readers program, field trips, STEM activities, physical fitness activities and art projects. All campers are divided into the following groups to engage in age-appropriate activities: Cheetahs (K-2) Eagles (3-4) Timberwolves (5-6) Camp Staff All camp staff are certified in First Aid, CPR, and undergo training designed by experts in the summer camp industry. Topics include: child abuse prevention, water safety and behavior management. Camper safety is our number one priority. Many of our camp counselors return for several years, allowing a close bond to develop with your children. Week 9: July Outdoor Adventures Week 10: July 30-Aug 2 - Service Week Week 11: Aug Backyard Bash Week 12: Aug 13 &14 - Farewell Week Registration and Payment Information There is a $30 registration fee. There is a $10 Camp Sokkia t-shirt fee. Weekly rate: YMCA member: $ Prospective member: $ Daily rate (2-day minimum): Member $35.00 Prospective member: $45.00 The Decatur Family YMCA reserves the right to cancel camp registration for a child with an outstanding balance after the due date. Financial Assistance YMCA scholarship funds are available for Camp Sokkia. Please complete Y Cares paperwork at the Decatur Family YMCA Childcare front desk. She is naturally a shy kid and does not warm up to others easily. In the beginning I was very nervous about how she would do with camp and feared she would be overwhelmed, but I was wrong. She has made many friends from different schools and looks forward to returning each summer. Camp Sokkia provides a lot of different activities for the kids to do and I am thankful for the experience. - Kristina

The camp staff and I are beyond excited about what is in store for this summer. Summer camp is a unique experience that provides each camper with a safe environment in which they can explore the outdoors, build self-esteem, development inter-personal skills, make lasting friends, and create memories that will last long after the summer ends. Our wonderful team of counselors share a passion for children and understand the importance of leading by example. We genuinely care about the individual development of each camper and strive to make this the Best Summer Ever! We look forward to seeing the returning campers and cannot wait to welcome in our newest friends!
