2 What you need to know... Have you ever wondered why your children love summer camp so much? Have you longed to relive your favorite 4-H camp memories from childhood? Have you been searching for opportunities to reunite with your fellow cabin counselors from years gone by? Now is your chance!!! North Central 4-H Camp invites you and your family to attend a fun-filled weekend at Family & Friends Camp. Mail in page 4 of this packet to make your reservation. Space is limited, so register soon! Session Details: August 3-5, 2018 Cost Per Family: The cost for your stay is calculated not by the individual, but by the cabin rental. We invite families to share cabins with other families or groups of friends, to lessen their cost per person and to maximize the number of individuals we can welcome to Family & Friends Camp. Each cabin sleeps a minimum of 16 persons. Cabin Rental: $ There are no additional or hidden fees. $ covers two-nights lodging, all activities, and foodservice (6 meals) for each individual staying in your cabin. Big Cabins Cabins 2-7 # of Beds: 20 each Cabin 8 (16 beds) Cabin Details: Cabin Areas: Bathhouses: Foodservice: Swimming: Country Store: Free Time: All cabins are air-conditioned, have two electrical outlets, and 8-10 bunk beds. The cabins do not have restrooms in them, however, communal bathhouses are located nearby. Please refer to the attached Camp Map when noting your preferred cabin area. There are 4 separate cabin areas to choose from (see right hand column). Availability is determined on a first-come, first-serve basis and individual cabin requests are not an option. Cabins 1, 9, and 23 will be reserved for Camp Staff and Volunteers. Our bathhouses were designed to be gender specific, however, in preparation for Family & Friends Camp, we have installed temporary floor-to-ceiling- patricians that allow us to create a male side and a female side. Each side has multiple toilets, sinks, showers and entry doors with gender-identifying signage. There are two family restrooms located at the Shelter House. We will offer 6 meals during Family & Friends Camp, beginning with dinner on Friday August 3rd and ending with lunch on Sunday August 5th. The menu will be provided via a couple weeks before the event. With prior notice, via sent to nccampdirector@kentucky4h.org, we are pleased to accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free guests. There will be a FREE SWIM period on Friday and Saturday, but also structured activities at the pool: WATER OLYMPICS! Lifeguards will be on duty! Twice per day, we will open our country store for snack and souvenir purchases. We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards. During breaks and free time, your family/friends can participate in the following: basketball, sand volleyball, gaga ball, carpetball, 9-square, horseshoes, and disc golf. Questions? It is the University of Kentucky s policy that all adults who stay overnight while children are present, must have a completed background check (this paperwork will be included in the welcome packet). Fun facts about North Central 4-H Camp NC 4-H Camp was established in 1965 and has been operated by the University of Kentucky since then. A log cabin, originally built in the 1820 s, was dismantled and rebuilt at camp in There are multiple stone walls within camp s 300-acre forest that mark old property lines from the 1800 s. NC 4-H Camp is a year-round facility that hosts over 10,000 visitors annually for summer camp, environmental education camp, conferences, and family reunions. NC 4-H Camp can house 412 people at full capacity.
