2 Day Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids see what they can accomplish, learn and master skills, make new friends, and feel like they belong. Every new experience at day camp is a chance for kids to stay active, address gaps in learning when school is not in session, and have fun. With the careful guidance of our trained staff, campers will learn core values that will last forever. They ll explore. They ll play. They ll grow. And they ll have an incredible amount of fun! Safe, Licensed Program Safety is our motivation at the Y. We hold our programs to the very highest standards through internal assessments and external inspections. Many of our camps voluntarily fulfill with third party requirements and regulation, including state-licensing and/or ACA accreditation. This helps further ensure a safe, healthy and worthwhile camping experience. Financial Assistance Available to Qualified Families We work hard throughout the year so everyone can be a part of the Y. Make a lei, compete in the limbo contest, or just hang loose as we travel to paradise. Week D: Time Warp July 2 6 Travel back in time to the 50 s, 60 s, 70 s, 80 s and 90 s. Dress up in the styles of each decade, learn about popular games, music and trends from the past. Week E: Surf s Up July 9 13 Ride the wave of wacky water fun in our wettest week of the summer! Arm yourself with water balloons, pack your swimsuit, win a water relay, and prepare to get soaked. Week F: Camp Spirit July We ve got spirit yes we do! No sad faces allowed this week as the crazy socks, goofy hats and other wild things come out as we show our spirit to one and all. Week G: The Great Outdoors July Grab your net, binoculars, and compass as we head into the forest. Explore plants, animals, and bugs all while learning outdoor and camping skills. Week H: Treasure Island July 30 August 3 Arrg Matey! Can you help us find the lost treasure? This week will be spent on the high seas with your favorite Pirate friends. Don t forget your eye patches me hearties! Week I: Under the Sea August 6 10 Dive into the great unknown as we explore underwater wonders. Mermaids, shells, fish, whales and SHARKS abound as we are transported under the sea through craft projects, storytelling, skits, and friendly competitions. Week J: Choose Your Adventure August Determine your own destiny and decide which direction to go discover new games and adventures along that way. Week K: Crazy Carnival August Join us for a week of fun and games take your chances on the ring toss, win prizes, and see what s under the big top. Week L: The Great Camp Mystery August Each day will bring a new surprise by finding clues, solving riddles and discover whodunit!

4 Summer Day Camp CARLS FAMILY YMCA #BestSummerEver Day Camp at the Y provides kids with supervised activities that will teach core values, conflict resolution, leadership skills, social responsibility, and more. Campers have fun while they develop friendships, better their health, enhance literacy, develop skills, gain independence, and appreciate teamwork. Camp runs in week-long themed sessions from June 11 to August 31. Camp activities run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, and before & after care is available at no additional charge. Camp Age Groups Camp Sunshine (ages 3-4) Camp Sunshine is for our youngest campers that are looking for fun and learning through hands on activities. Our amazing camp staff create a curriculum that offers a safe and enjoyable day for all. Camp Noruh (ages 5-7) & Camp Huron (ages 8-10) Through our themed weeks and programs, campers learn fundamental life skills such as sportsmanship, sharing, leadership and many more skills, while making friends and having fun. Teen Camp (ages 11-12) Campers are taken on a journey of a lifetime as they travel to new places and do amazing activities. Each week is packed full of experiences that will create lasting memories and friendships. Teen Leaders Camp (ages 13-14) Our Teen Leadership Club has a very specific goal: to develop leadership skills that young people can use throughout their lives to help others and themselves identify and achieve goals. 5 Teen Overnight to Nissokone Wednesday July 4-Friday, July 6 Campers registered for Week D of Teen Adventure/Teen Leaders camp will join teens from other area Y s for a 2 night stay at our YMCA Camp Nissokone in Oscoda, MI. Campers will participate in activities such as boating, paintball, fencing, swimming & waterslide, high ropes and more. Additional fee: $65 Swim Lessons Monday Thursday The Y offers discounted swim lessons/swim team for campers ages Camp staff will deliver and pick up the campers each morning during the morning lesson times. If you wish to take advantage of this tremendous offer, be sure to register them at the Welcome Center when registering for camp. Fee: Y Member $33 per/week, Community Participants $47 per/week For 3 & 4 year olds registered in Camp Sunshine, swim lessons are included in the camp fee. Campers have lessons Monday and/or Tuesday mornings each week. Before Care/After Care Policies Before Care (7-9 am) and After Care (4-6 pm) are included in the full week camp fee. Important Registration Information A non-discountable $25 weekly deposit is required for each week that a child is attending camp. This deposit will reserve your spot in camp and applies toward the total camp fee. Weekly deposit is nondiscountable. All remaining fees must be paid the Wednesday prior to the start of each week of camp or that week s deposit will be forfeited. A one-time non-refundable $25 registration fee per family will be applied at registration. Financial Assistance Financial assistance is available for qualifying families. All financial assistance forms must be submitted by March 24 for processing. Contact the Carls Family YMCA for an application. Sibling Discount A 10% discount is available for each additional sibling registered. The weekly deposit is non-discountable. Drop Off and Pick Up Drop off/pick up will take place at Camp Huron located on the north side of the Carls Family YMCA parking lot. When the weather does not cooperate, drop off/pick up will be in the gym of the Carls Family YMCA. Camp Sunshine drop off (9:00am) & pick up (4:00pm) will be in the multi-purpose room. This allows us to automatically withdraw payments directly from your credit/debit card or savings account. I understand the draft will occur for each week of registration unless a 7 day written notice is provided. Registration Fee: A one time NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE registration fee will be assessed at the time of registration. Deposits: A NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE deposit is required for each camp week reserved. Weekly balances are due the Wednesday prior to each camp week reserved. Parent Initial Date Field Trips With weekly registration, my camper has permission to attend all field trips planned during the summer. NOTE: Parents/Guardians will be notified in advance of planned activities. If your camper cannot attend a field trip or has to be picked up early, the YMCA may not be able to provide provisional care. It is the parent/guardians responsibility to plan in advance of this need. Additional field trips may not be substituted if a camper misses a day. Parent Initial Swimming My camper may participate in the YMCA summer swim program. I understand my camper will supervised by a licensed lifeguard at all times. NOTE: Campers will be given a swim test before each swimming session. Parent Initial Program Information I have received the YMCA Summer Day Camp Parent Handbook. It is my responsibility to know all the policies and procedures outlined within.
