2 Day Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids see what they can accomplish, learn and master skills, make new friends, and feel like they belong. Every new experience at day camp is a chance for kids to stay active, address gaps in learning when school is not in session, and have fun. With the careful guidance of our trained staff, campers will learn core values that will last forever. They ll explore. They ll play. They ll grow. And they ll have an incredible amount of fun! Safe, Licensed Program Safety is our motivation at the Y. We hold our programs to the very highest standards through internal assessments and external inspections. Many of our camps voluntarily fulfill with third party requirements and regulation, including state-licensing and/or ACA accreditation. This helps further ensure a safe, healthy and worthwhile camping experience. Financial Assistance Available to Qualified Families We work hard throughout the year so everyone can be a part of the Y. Each Professional Role Model has the knowledge and training to make each moment of your camper s summer fun and enriching. Our staff believes in developing youth through nurturing the potential of every camper. Use your imagination and explore your future dream job. Nothing could be more exciting than building your own fantasy future! Week B: Holidays June What s your favorite Holiday? It matters not! Come all ye faithful because we ve got all the big ones wrapped into one fantastic week. Celebrate them all Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more! Week C: Space June Calling all future astronauts! The depths of space are full of possibilities for discovery, from rockets to aliens; this week will be out there. To infinity and beyond! Week D: Sports July 3 7 Whether you love basketball, soccer, tennis, or another sport, you ll learn lessons centered on teamwork and sportsmanship. Campers of all abilities will learn and play a variety of sports during sports week. Week E: Water July Dive into our wettest week! Discover the depths of the ocean, its wild creatures, and the pirates that once sailed the seas. Arm yourself with water balloons, pack your swimsuit, and prepare to get soaked. Week F: Carnival July Fire up the cotton candy machine and crank up the fun, because it s time for the Y Carnival. Step right up and try your hand at the ring toss, stop by the face painting stand, or maybe win a special prize at one of the game stations. These are just a few activities that await! Week G: Disney July Be Our Guest, Be Our Guest! We are on a fast pass through the entire magical world of Disney! With Disney themed activities each day, we are bringing the magic to camp all week. Week H: Science July 31 August 4 Science is all about exploration. If you can dream it, you can create it! Design experiments with friends and build hands-on projects while diving deep into your curious mind. Week I: Pirate August 7 11 Arrg Matey! Can you help us find the lost treasure? This week will be spent on the high seas with your favorite Pirate friends. Don t forget your eye patches me hearties! Week J: International August Grab your passports as we travel around the globe to visit different cultures/countries though games, music, foods and crafts. We ll end our travels with a stop at the Y! Week K: Superhero August There is no place better than camp to practice your superhero powers! Together with our super camp staff, you will do extraordinary things. Week L: Spirit August 28 September 1 We ve got spirit yes we do! No sad faces allowed this week as the crazy socks, goofy hats and other wild things come out as we show our spirit to one and all.

The Westland Day Camp will be held at Central City Park in the Farmers Market Pavilion. 5 Westland Summer Day Camp LIVONIA FAMILY YMCA #BestSummerEver We are excited to introduce YMCA Day Camp in Westland! Day Camp at the Y provides kids ages 5-12* with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution, sportsmanship, leadership skills, social responsibility, and more. Campers have fun while developing friendships, improving their health, participating in literacy and financial literacy, developing skills, gaining independence, and appreciating teamwork. Camp runs in week-long themed sessions from June 19 to September 1. Camp activities run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, and before & after care is available. Camp Cost 5 DAYS 3 DAYS Community Participants $175, Y Members $140 Community Participants $150, Y Members $115 Day Camp Policies Before Care and After Care Policies Camp Activities start at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. There is no cost for Before Care & After Care. Campers may be dropped off for before care at 7:00 am and be picked up as late as 6:00 pm. Campers that are picked up past 6:00 pm will be charged a late fee for that day. See the day camp parent handbook for more specific details for the assessment of late fees. Important Registration Information In order to coordinate camp and pool staff for the upcoming week, campers must be registered for camp by 6:00 pm the Tuesday proceeding the week of the camper s attendance. If full payment is not received registration will be canceled and deposit will be lost. Sibling Discount 10% discount is available for each additional sibling registered. Deposits for Weeks of Camp Weekly deposits of $15 are required to secure a spot for camp each week a camper is attending. Deposits are applied to weekly camp fee. Camp does fill up and campers will be turned away if deposits are not made. All deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Food / Meals The YMCA of Metro Detroit is committed to the highest quality of food and health standards for our kids. Because of this, all foods distributed through the YMCA follow the USDA and HEPA (Healthy Eating and Physical Activity) standards. A healthy breakfast and lunch is included in day camp enrollment. Our monthly menus will be posted for all parents to view. If an alternative lunch is preferred, parents are welcome to pack a healthy lunch and snack for their children, however please see and abide by our food guidelines. All soda and candy should be left at home. *5 year-old campers must have completed Kindergarten Day Camp Open House at the YMCA Saturday, April 22, 1:00 3:00 pm Saturday, May 13, 1:00 3:00 pm Meet the Staff Team, ask questions about camp and play games! Day Camp Registration Fee will be waived these days. What to Pack for Camp All campers should bring a water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and a swimsuit to camp every day. This allows us to automatically withdraw payments directly from your credit/debit card or savings account. Weekly payments will be automatically withdrawn on the Wednesday prior to each camp week reserved. I/we authorize and request the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit to charge my(our) credit card/bank account for Day Camp fees. I/We further authorize the financial institution to debit these fees. I understand the draft will occur for each week of registration unless a 7 day written notice is provided. Registration Fee: A one time NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE registration fee will be assessed at the time of registration. Deposits: A NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE deposit is required for each camp week reserved. Weekly balances are due the Wednesday prior to each camp week reserved. Parent Initial Date Field Trips With weekly registration, my camper has permission to attend all field trips planned during the summer. NOTE: Parents/Guardians will be notified in advance of planned activities. If your camper cannot attend a field trip or has to be picked up early, the YMCA may not be able to provide provisional care. It is the parent/guardians responsibility to plan in advance of this need. Additional field trips may not be substituted if a camper misses a day. Parent Initial Swimming My camper may participate in the YMCA summer swim program. I understand my camper will supervised by a licensed lifeguard at all times. NOTE: Campers will be given a swim test before each swimming session. Parent Initial Program Information I have received the YMCA Summer Day Camp Parent Handbook. It is my responsibility to know all the policies and procedures outlined within.
