2 Marshfield Municipal Airport, Roy Shwery Field Airport Management Report October 24th, 2018 Several members of the airport committee and airport management will be meeting with the Historical Preservation Committee to discuss the potential of placing a marker at the airport commemorating Roy Shwery and the airport. There are some potential locations and ideas to place the marker as well as relocate the stainless steal sculpture airplane on the hill on West 29th Street. The stainless steal airplane was initially constructed to serve as a commemorative marker for Roy Shwery and Midstate Airlines. tractor has just been listed today and will be on the auction website for 14 days. We have requested a minimum of $2000 on the tractor as we did receive one offer from a scrap supplier for that amount. The auction site has listed the plow and weight separate from the tractor. We had hoped to sell it all as one unit. Information on the Case Tractor has been submitted to Wisconsin Surplus for an auction. The Walt Embke and Bob Gaier have been cleaning out the Quonset hut of items that have accumulated over the years. We had a few items from the

3 old brick terminal building that was torn down in Our plan is to make it easy to transition the snow removal equipment from one door to another. The new pull behind broom is not easily backed in so we will have to drive through the building to get it out. While working in the quonset and with the mass amount of rain we received, we noticed how mushy the gravel is on the North end of the quonset hut. In the future we are going to have to work on a drainage base in the area as well as reinforcing it to maintain the weight of the snow removal equipment. In the winter when it is frozen, it shouldn t be an issue. Right now we are putting ruts in the gravel. We have been having issues with the visual approach slope indicator (VASI) lights staying on. Merkel found a breaker tripped on the 16 VASIs. The 34 VASIs remain unlit as they need repair. Merkel is having problems finding parts for the 40 plus year old lights. We are scrounging what we can from other airports when they retire their VASI units in the nearby area. Duffy s Aircraft is going to be offering the Holiday Light Flights over the Rotary Winter Wonderland. We have not offered the flights since 2015 when we no longer had a pilot willing to fly at night for the flights. We now have a pilot that is interested in offering the rides over Marshfield and the Rotary Winter Wonderland. We will have more details online in the next few days. Happy Flying, Duffy, Alice, Robert and Jeff Pictured Above: The Life Link III PC-12 Aircraft and Marshfield Fire and Rescue.
