2 Marshfield Municipal Airport, Roy Shwery Field Airport Manager s Report February 15th, 2017 The weather has improved both with temperature and the amount of sunshine we have been receiving. This has caused pilots, students and aviation enthusiasts to come out to the airport and go flying. It has been a slow first month and a half of the year otherwise with activity at the airport which is typical this time of year. EAA 992 put on their annual Chili Feed and Ski Plane fly-in on February 11th, They had great temperatures for the event and reasonable visibility and cloud height. There were about a dozen aircraft that flew in for the event. Eleven different kinds of chili was served to those that came. Roughly about 100 people were in attendance throughout the event. A good time was had by all that attended. Pictured to the left: The Smoked Chili that was one of eleven different types of chili that was donated for the event. The CIP has been submitted to City Administration for their review and consideration for the CIP process.
3 Wood County sent us notice of a survey map for a neighbor to the airport. The map was sent as a courtesy to the airport. The Vernon R. Berg property / Longview Tree Farm LLC is up for sale. This lot is adjacent to the airport on Lincoln. It is being sold as four separate lots for housing development. The lots fall within the immediate edge of the height limitation zoning. However they are far enough back from the height limitation zoning that a two story dwelling could easily be built on the lots. A developer last year approached the airport about the lots with an idea of building homes with ponds on each lot. The Bureau of Aeronautics and Department of Wildlife did not recommend developing further water sources adjacent to the airport that would attract additional water fowl and wildlife near the airport. The Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics has invited us for a meeting in Madison for the 2017 Airport Sponsor Workshop. While there, we discuss our six year plan as well as go over the future of funding for aviation projects. Over the last few years the Federal Aviation Administration has released federal funds later and later in the year. We expect this to be the case again this year. Construction projects are then started in late August or postponed to the following year. Tentative Agenda is as follows: 12:30 to 1:30 PM General Session Various BOA members 12:30 PM Welcome David Green - Director of the BOA 12:35 PM GIS Program Updates Brenda Hanson 12:45 PM Federal Funding Update: FAA Reautorization and Appropriation 12:55 PM Airport property mapping and New FAA Requirements Keith Gerard Diann Danielsen 1:05 PM National Based Aircraft Registry Judy harding 1:15 PM Engineering Update Engineering Section Chief 1:30 to 3:30 PM Individual Airport Meetings. Happy Flying! Duffy, Alice, Robert and Jeff Gaier

This is just from conversations we have with pilots and passengers. There are more business that do benefit from the airport each month.
