1 Armadillo District Webelos Woods Outdoor Weekend 2013 Troop Guide Book This guide includes information on the troops attending the 2013 Webelos Woods. A more complete guide to all troops in the district will be prepared over the next few months.

Our Scouts attend a variety of schools including public, private, charter and home schooling. We have actively involved parents. We are a Leave No Trace troop (LNT) so we travel light with minimal gear. Since we are so small, we get to know all of our Scouts and work to their individual strengths and weaknesses. Scouts are considering Sid Richardson, El Rancho Cima, and BTSR. Troop is considering sending two contingents: one to a regular summer camp and one to a mid-level high adventure camp The troop is comprised of caring, easy-going members. The adults impart a "safety first" vibe and help push the youth beyond their comfort zones but allow the boys to lead. Many high school youth serve as Junior Assistant Scout Masters. We are affiliated with Pack 1407, a cub scout pack formed from home school and Montessori school students; and Ship 1407, a co-ed Sea Scout ship made up of older boy scouts and nonscouts. We also support the Texas Military Forces Museum by offering service during the American Heroes Weekend and Close Assault WWII reenactments. We work with the Lonestar Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, the group who provides the military vehicles for the annual Report To State Parade. We work with the Republic of Texas Chapter of the International Plastic Modellers Society providing help to the children's "Make and Take" free model building program. We work with King's Hobby Shop during their Pinewood Derby Workshops. We provide service to the Urban Youth Initiative during their Local Heroes Day. And we offer summertime Webelos Badge programs.
