Here are some of the tips that he shared. Check your fluids often. Consider change them depending on the length of time they have been in the vehicle. Prevent moisture in your gas tank if your car will be sitting for any length of time. Use an additive to keep the gas fresh. Look at your tires how old are they? It may be time to replace. Always carry your cell phone when driving you can call someone to come get you when the car breaks down. As you will recall from our last meeting we will NOT be having our regular monthly on the first Thursday. Rather we will be enjoying what has become our annual picnic beside Curt and Missy s pond. There will be plenty of good food and the Hurricane Honeys will be back from their annual seminar voyage to the Caribbean. I understand this year s theme topic is Carburetion vs. Fuel Injection, The Battle Rages On. At least that what Page told me they d be discussing and she s sticking to her story. What I don t understand is why there is a concern over whether Thor, the pool boy will be on board again. Maybe they can tell us about it at the picnic. We will also not have a regular meeting in October as we will be returning to Baker Buffalo Winery for a fall cookout. We had a great time in July and look forward to the return in cooler weather. Thanks again to Chris Monroe for joining us at our last meeting to lead a very informative program on classic car maintenance and storage protection. I know I m usually kidding around while writing this message, but I really did gain a lot from the discussions and ideas tossed about the room. If you see Chris while you are out and about, please thank him for meeting with us. I would love to have another program in November after our fall cookout at the winery. Please give me your ideas so we can make it happen. Finally, I expect to have our permit from the city in hand right after Labor Day for our show on April 27 along with an uptown backup location in case the road construction interferes with our regular spot. Be thinking about a car show sub-committee that you d like to join. See you at the picnic. You ll recognize me, I ll be reaching for another deviled egg. Jim Communications is an important part of any organization. The newsletter is published monthly to encourage and to promote events, to share activities and information, to introduce members to the love of cars, to involve you in helping others and to celebrate our successes. If you have ideas for articles please send by the 20 th of the month. If not received in a timely manner, item may not make newsletter that month.
