Yeah, but enough already! I know we have all heard that quote but I think I have had enough rain for now. One of the dynamics of managing the Camp Ground is that, during the spring season, so much is growing (grass) and opening up (buildings) that it is hard to keep up. The front lawns are always challenging to mow with the excessive rain and subsequent saturated spots. It can be frustrating when the rain keeps coming and we get freeze warnings while the staff is trying to paint, clean, and open up the various association buildings in preparation for our summer programs. How dare things like the weather get in the way:) Then I remind myself of the floods I read about which impacted the first few years of LCG (when they met in Logan and Carroll). Without those floods, they may have never settled upon this beautiful hillside. We have had a couple people from Goodwill Industries here helping to beautify the grounds, cleaning up the boardwalk around the Cafeteria and painting the speed bumps. Along with the group 1 and the wonderful work of so many residents, it is a delight to see the grounds come alive. I always know that summer is near when our many snowbirds begin to settle back into their cottages, turning on their water and opening their doors, releasing the stale air that has accumulated over the winter. It is a delight to welcome them back and hear about their stories of sand and sea. Don t forget to stop by and welcome them home! I wanted to remind everyone that there is a Special Association Meeting on Saturday, May 16 th and I hope you plan to attend. We will be discussing and voting on the Articles of Incorporation and a lease increase. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of your board members. We also need to fill the trustee-elect position for a one-year term. An information session will be held on Saturday, May 30 th from 10:00 am 12:00 noon in Unit 1 and hosted by the committee to let you know the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to help lead this community. Reminder of Maintenance Crew Scheduling I am sure most of you recognize that the LCG maintenance crew works diligently in juggling their many responsibilities.

If you have a grounds issue that needs their attention, please come down to the office and fill out a work order. We will attempt to put it on their schedule in a timely manner.

6 Reminder of Maintenance Crew Scheduling I am sure most of you recognize that the LCG maintenance crew works diligently in juggling their many responsibilities. Especially this time of year, we find that there are more chores than available time. I would therefore remind residents to be mindful of their time. If you have a grounds issue that needs their attention, please come down to the office and fill out a work order. We will attempt to put it on their schedule in a timely manner. However, please DO NOT approach any of the maintenance crew members and demand that they drop what they are doing and take care of your matter. They likely have been instructed to perform the task they are on and need to faithfully complete it. Thank you so much for your understanding and consideration of all the staffs time. They are a wonderful team and I am pleased to work with each one. CPR/First Aid Courses I have been meeting with the local EMS in preparing some resources to make the Camp Ground safer and better prepared for possible emergencies. We discussed the possibility of offering CPR/First Aid training to interested residents. If there are any residents here (nurses, EMT, or other persons) who already have the training and would be willing to teach, please let me know. I hope to offer this training here at the Camp Ground in the near future. Davis Auditorium Fundraising Dinner and Show last chance to purchase tickets! Set aside this date for an evening of fellowship, food, and entertainment while supporting a good cause the preservation of the LCG Davis Auditorium. This celebration is scheduled for May 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Activity Building of the Lancaster Camp Ground. Entertainment includes the Licking County Players Suitcase Theatre and Dave Lehman s Comedic Magic. Tickets are $25/plate with limited seating. Call for ticket information. Public Transit Last year, I reached out to the administrator of Lancaster-Fairfield Public Transit about offering a shuttle service from the Camp Ground to the Fairgrounds during fair week.

I recently contacted the transit system administrator and was told that there is a public hearing to discuss several matters, including the possibility of a fair shuttle but also a west side loop

Though I was not successful, we did discuss the possibility of getting some form of transportation services this year. I recently contacted the transit system administrator and was told that there is a public hearing to discuss several matters, including the possibility of a fair shuttle but also a west side loop similar to the Memorial Express that may come this direction on a regular basis. If you would like to offer written comments/feedback on how this service would be beneficial, you can drop them off at the LCG office before May 22 nd or you can send them directly to the Lancaster Public Transit System.
