1 Brandywine Valley Ski Association PO Box 549 Downingtown, PA September/October 2011 The Prez Sez Take Your FUN, On The RUN Summer s almost over and we re getting back to the regular monthly meetings. For the September meeting, the BVSA Board has planned an Open House. Please bring your friends and family out, to see what BVSA is all about. Tim N. and the whole BVSA Board would like to see a good turn out to support this event. I ve tried very hard (some times too hard) this past year to make the General Meetings punctual, informative and social. I ve brought back the tables, the name tags, and gotten the club business over on time, I hope these changes have created a more social atmosphere and given our members more time to socialize. So if you haven t been to a General Membership Meeting for a while, come to one and join the FUN. I would like to thank all the BVSA members for making our Summer Events memorable and FUN. I would like to give special thanks to our pool party hosts, they were the host with the most, Pam Terry and Carol Puccella, These pool parties are the backbone of our Summer Activities, so many thanks to our hosts for stepping up!! Now on to the future, the Board is working on some great events for the Fall, participate and I m sure you'll have a ball. Stay tuned for further details!! Oh! and check out the interior of this newsletter, many of our upcoming events will appear right here. The BVSA Board has decided to send paper newsletters to all our members for the next three months. We want all our members to be well informed about our Fall events. At this juncture, I d like to say thank you to the Board, being a BVSA Board member isn t all peaches and crème. Sometimes it s hard work and a need Ta Git R Dun. Now don t get me wrong, there is a lot of FUN and satisfaction that goes along with that hard work, especially when things are going good. But when things aren t going so good, everyone needs to remember that everyone on the board is a volunteer! There is an old saying, the only stupid question is the question you didn t ask, I believe that absolutely, (I bet you missed me saying absolutely all the time). If you don t know why BVSA does something, ASK why. If you don t know why BVSA doesn t do something, ASK why not. You won t always get the answer you want to hear, (you can t please everyone), but if you don t like the answer, you can always ASK again. Lie, who me? Members from other EPSC Clubs with Trip Reciprocity Policies may participate in BVSA trips, when spots are made available, without having to pay guest fees or additional membership fees. All participants must comply with the policies established by BVSA.

We started off into the wind and through some fairly heavy chop produced by the big boats going by but, when we turned across the river to the north side, it calmed down and after passing through a group of boats anchored and swimming off the end of Garrett island we were into calm water with lots of herons, nesting osprey and interesting wrecked boats and barges.
