1 August September 2014 Brandywine Valley Ski Association PO Box 549, Downingtown, PA Another On-line Only Summer month BVSA Newsletter PREZ SEZ BVSA Upcoming Events Folks: Well, here we are into the month of August and the summer is more than half way over. The average temperatures are from 90 to 100 degrees. But that does not stop us does it? Most of us do the usual house inside and outside hold chores in the morning, and also do the chores before the sun sets in the evening. If you are like me, it is always a joy to cook on the grill and save on those electric bills for your house, condo or apartment. Speaking of cooking out on the grill, do not forget about our club picnic (summer party, bonfire and campout) to be held on Saturday, August 2 nd with the rain date being on Sunday, August 3 rd. The cost will be $10/head and it will include hamburgers, hot dogs, sweet corn, beer, soda, wine and water. And of course there will be a DJ with some dancing. There is also a fire pit for a bonfire that will be after dark and also do not forget to bring your bathing suits as there is a hot tub. Also if you have a camping tent, feel free to set up in the back yard and breakfast will be served the next day. Our ski trips are in full gear so if you are interested in claiming your spot(s) on them, please do not forget to bring your check books. We will also have a membership table where you can renew your membership and also bring in new members. Do not forget the other upcoming activities; August 9 th will be a day kayaking trip to the shore, please contact Pat Jones if you are interested in the trip. The Thousand Islands trip will happen on August 23 rd and it goes until August 30th. If any of you have any other non-skiing activities, parties, impromptu get togethers or other ideas that you want to run or present, please contact us (board). We have some ideas on stuff, but we would also like to hear from you (the membership) so do not be afraid to step up to the plate and let us know. Many of you have gotten my information on the newsletter; I have gotten some feedback from some of the members. But we would like to hear back from more of the general membership. Please understand that we can make adjustments based on the feedback that we get from the members. Stay tuned for information on the first general meeting and other information.
