1 November 2017 program guide NATURE H is for Hawk Wednesday, November 1 at 7pm Volume 32 Number 11

2 2 GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE The WyomingPBS producers are racing the weather, and we have new episodes of Farm to Fork, Main Street, Wyoming, and Wyoming Chronicle for you in November. We re also launching a new series called Our Wyoming. These short video stories explore the people, places, history, and culture that make Wyoming unique. You ll see these first on our Facebook page, in our YouTube channel, and at video.wyomingpbs.org. Our goal is to premiere several a month then, in the Spring, combine the short videos into traditional television programs. A new feature in the Guide starting this month is Passport Pick, on page 6. We highlight each month, one or more new programs available to WyomingPBS members through their Passport. If you haven t activated your Passport, the special code is on the mailing label again this month. For over the air viewers in Teton County, a big change is coming in late November or early December. WyomingPBS has to change frequencies to make room for the growing mobile industry. Over the air viewers will need to rescan their TV channels. Cable viewers will not be affected. We ll have more information on our FaceBook page and website towards the end of the month. In September, we distributed Painting the Falls of Yellowstone to PBS stations nationwide. In only six weeks, the show has aired 120 times in 38 communities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco! Within six months, we anticipate the show will air on at least 80 stations nationwide. Congratulations to Producer Kyle Nicholoff and artist MC Poulsen. Finally, our Winter Membership drive starts after Thanksgiving. In Winter of 2015, WyomingPBS pledged 20 days. In Winter of 2016, we pledged 18 days. This year, we re only pledging for 15. This means less disruption to our normal schedule, but it also means fewer days to meet our critical Winter goal. We ll repeat some of your favorite WyomingPBS programs. But, we also have new programs like The Beatles: Eight Days a Week, the story of the Beatles early touring years, and Everly Brothers Harmonies from Heaven. Tune in to renew your Membership or take advantage of our special Thank You gifts. Your support makes everything happen! Thanks for watching and for being part of the WyomingPBS family. Terry Dugas General Manager Station Happenings Last month, WyomingPBS live streamed the Wyoming Legislature Select Committee on School Finance Recalibration meeting. A special edition of Capitol Outlook was also streamed and broadcast, which provided legislative leaders, educators and viewers the opportunity to discuss solutions to the projected budget shortfall for funding related to public education in Wyoming. The live streams can be viewed at wyomingpbs.org/legislature.
