1 Spring 2010 Ride and Event Schedule pp 2-5 Regional Rally Registration Form p 6 NW Area Officers p 7 NWCOG Area Director s Spring 2010 Report Spring is finally here and as usual, the NWCOGgers have several events all ready to go. Please take the time to look at NW Area Calendar of Events for all the rides, wrench sessions and rallies already posted. Also, please make sure to check it often for updates and new events as they become available. This newsletter also contains a schedule for all events currently planned as of the end of March. Now that the weather is getting better, for the most part anyway, and everyone is chomping at the bit to get out and ride, my usual concerns include is the bike ready? In addition, and much more important, am I ready? Yeah, yeah, mother hen time again! Check your bike, check your gear, and check yourself out. I don t know about you but I am out of shape! Yeah round is a shape, but really now, please make sure you are able to make that 2, 3, 4, or even 5 hour ride by getting used to the bike in stages. Ride the 1/2 hour then the hour etc Build up your endurance and stamina not your stubbornness and stupidity. The latter two can be and usually are dangerous. The Bun Cooler is going to be another blowout event as the Lewis and Clark Inn is already full, and we are hoping everyone who has not already made reservations can still find a room at the Clearwater 12. (More info in the Calendar of Events). If you have not made a room reservation, they still have tent camping and I hear the local bears have been bribed to stay away, but you cannot trust a bear to keep their word. (Kidding about the bears..i hope!) We will also shortly be posting information concerning the 2010 Regional Rally, which will once again be hosted in Enterprise, Oregon. Initial details are also included later in this newsletter, as well as a registration form for those who prefer to use it rather than register online. But we do encourage you to register online if possible. With that, once again please check out the Event Calendar and I hope you will take advantage of the good will and wishes of our event hosts by being a participant in the events. Thanks everyone and as always Ride Safe and Have Fun! Bob Pappalardo NWAD, COG #5539
