1 Dear Conference Participant, This final informational is being sent out to all participants of the 2012 AWRA Washington State Conference. I hope you are as excited as I am for this event. I m confident that you will find the conference educational and professionally valuable, a place for seeing old friends, and a venue for making new contacts. This includes important information you will need for the conference. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Please contact: Tyler Jantzen: (cell) Upon Arrival at Central Washington University (CWU)*: 1) Pick up parking pass and meal pass (and dorm room key if applicable) in the Vantage Room of Munson Hall (directions below). 15 minute parking is available at Munson Hall. 2) Park in Parking Lot G 16 3) Pick up name tag and program at the Lombard Room. * Attendees arriving on Tuesday morning for the field trip or Tuesday evening for dorm lodging should follow directions under "Field Trip" and "Lodging" below. 3 Directions From Seattle: Take I 90 Eastbound. Take exit #106 to Ellensburg. Follow the road and it will become E. University Way continue through the intersection of Main Street and continue for 5 1/2 blocks. Then follow directions below. From Wenatchee: Take U.S. 97 Southbound over Blewett Pass into Ellensburg. Follow Cascade Way/E. University Way through the intersection of Main Street and continue for 5 1/2 blocks. Then follow directions below. From Spokane: Take I 90 Westbound. Take exit #109 to Ellensburg. Turn right at the end of the offramp. Follow Canyon Road/Main Street for.8 of a mile to E. University Way. Turn right on E. Univ. Way and go 5 1/2 blocks. Then follow directions below. From Yakima, Tri Cities: Take I 82 Northbound to I 90 Westbound for Seattle. Take the first exit, #109. Take a right at the end of the off ramp and follow Canyon Road/Main Street for.8 of a mile. Turn right on E. University Way, go 5 and ½ blocks. Then follow directions below. Then: Look for the Domino s Pizza sign at the right side of the University Way. Pass Domino s and prepare to make an immediate right turn just before the traffic light. There is a small Kiosk located in the parking lot. Pull in and park in the designated 15 minute space and the Vantage Room/Munson Hall is located east of the parking lot. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. Parking at CWU parking lot G 16 is included in your 2 day or 1 day conference registration. Pick up your parking pass from the Conference Program office in the Vantage Room of Munson Hall prior to parking (see campus map above). 15 minute parking is available at Munson Hall. Parking at Hampton Inn is limited to customers of Hampton Inn. Additional free parking is available nearby in the gravel overflow lot behind Perkins/Love s on University Way. Lunch and beverages will be provided. Recommended items to bring with you: o Camera o Pen and notebook. A separate field trip program will be provided. o Snacks & water bottle (lunch, beverages, and water refills will be provided) o Sunscreen & sunglasses o Photo ID may be needed for entrance into some facilities For questions day of field trip, call Tyler at (cell).

5 Lodging On Campus Lodging Munson Hall at Central Washington University Registration for On Campus Lodging is no longer available. For those already registered, checkin is available: prior to the field trip in the Vantage Room of Munson Hall (September 11, 8am to 8:45 am) after the field trip in the Vantage Room of Munson Hall (September 11, 6pm to 8pm) prior to the conference in the Vantage Room (September 12, 7am to 9am) If you need to check in outside of these hours, please Tyler Jantzen at or contact the CWU Conference Program at All guests must be checked out by 12pm on September 13. A secure space is available for luggage at Munson Hall after check out is complete. Meal tickets are included in your registration, and can be picked up with your parking pass at Munson Hall

6 Wednesday Night Reception and BBQ Wednesday, September 12. 6pm to 10pm. Directions from Lombard Room at the Central Washington University to BBQ Springwood Ranch: 415 East Taneum Road, Thorp, WA 98946; 10 miles from the University 1. Head west on E University Way (go 2.6 miles) 2. Merge onto I-90 W via the ramp to Seattle (go 4.9 miles) 3. Take exit 101 for Thorp Highway toward Thorp (go 0.2 miles) 4. Turn right onto S. Thorp Hwy (go 2.2 miles) 5. Turn left onto E Taneum Rd and the ranch will be on the right (go 1.0 miles) 6. Turn right at Springwood Ranch sign onto Springwood Ranch driveway (go 0.6 miles) Dinner options include top sirloin, wild salmon or a vegetarian option. We will also serve beer and wine. Activities include horseshoes and a mini golf on a lighted course as well as plenty of room to walk and explore. There is no set agenda other than the meal. This will be a great time to meet people and discuss the conference in a beautiful setting. Carpooling from Ellensburg and back is encouraged. The drive takes approximately 20 minutes.
