TOURISM Black og Marketing/Branding oncepts Andrew Meader Addressed about forty stakeholders who attended roundtable discussions and presented several tourism branding ideas. They have looked at a mix of digital and traditional media to advertise a rural county with no hotels. Editorial calendar planned out for the remainder of the year with Mannix Marketing, handout attached. In progress, working on the website structure and how it will be programmed to be most useful, social and traditional media plans to attract people from neighboring counties, planning on a brand launch in May that will include press releases and a large social media push. isplayed brand concepts that they have created. The committee reviewed and offered feedback. One of the concepts stated Washington ounty See, Taste and Explore, another more modern approach and the use of an icon for the A in Washington ounty. Favored a logo that would go on products. Two designs taken back for further development. AGRIUTURE: Renee Bouplon, Agricultural Stewardship Association, addressed the following items with the committee: NYS ept. of Ag & Markets came out with new grant for land trusts limited in scope but they did apply. PR Update: ooked at 15 proposals from farmers and anticipating the state will release grant information in May. They usually apply for four to six grants. They would like Ag & Markets to go back to an annual process and no cap on applications. $20M State funding for farmland protection plans. No grants awarded last year. andview Farms, White reek, is closing on Monday. Projects coming up for closing: Rich View farms in Greenwich and entral Grazing in Hartford and Fort Ann. ontinue to offer educational workshops.

Annual Inclusions in Ag istricts - The Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board met and approved a parcel for inclusion in ag district: Nicholas Baric, Town of Hebron 7.4 Acres combining with another parcel owned. A motion to set public hearing and approve parcel for annual inclusion in ag district was moved by Mrs. Fedler, seconded by Mr. Shay and adopted. EONOMI EVEOPMENT/PANNING aura Oswald, Economic evelopment irector, addressed the following items with the committee: BG Funding There is no specific project now but a public hearing is needed if the ounty plans to apply. A project cannot be submitted without a public hearing. A motion to schedule a public hearing regarding BG funding was moved by Mr. Shay, seconded by Mrs. Fedler and adopted. ake George Regional Planning Board representative will attend next month s meeting to provide an overview of that organization. Taste NY a new welcome center is planned around exit 17 of the Northway and she has been approached to identify products made in the ounty that can be included in the Taste New York vendor program. She is reaching out to vendors that might be interested. Fresh food and produce will not be included. Broadband Map displayed and general overview summary handout distributed, attached. The State has released the final results of the awards. Spectrum has been deploying in Rennselaer ounty and are moving northward. She expects the first area they are going to do is Easton. Verizon and Slic are fiber-based solution, Hudson Valley Wireless is wireless and Hughes Net is satellite. ensus blocks are meeting on street lines and there could be fiber on one side of the street and satellite on the other. Verizon, Slic and Hudson Valley Wireless are open to a countywide meeting and she has not made a connection yet with Hughes Net. Broadband maps have been provided to all Supervisors by Real Property thanking Heather Weller, GIS Specialist. Washington ounty total NY broadband for all program investment handout attached. This is an ongoing process and she will keep the committee updated. aura is willing to address town boards, contact her to make those arrangements. OTHER BUSINESS: Adhoc Trails ommittee ave Perkins provided an update on items being addressed by the Adhoc Trails ommittee and submitted the attached report. 12 Trails ommittee Update APT ommittee Meeting March 20, 2018 The ommittee met on March 14 th at 10:30 AM. Minutes from the February meeting were approved. At the February meeting, a set of Goals and Objectives were distributed to the ommittee to be reviewed in preparation for a vote at this meeting. Such a vote was taken, and the document was approved. Trail Projects: Most discussion that followed was on trail developments within the various townships which are impacted by either the T, EST or SVRT relating the following points: A public meeting is scheduled for the HF village hall for March nd at 5:30 PM to discuss planned EST/T trail improvements from the village of FE to New Swamp Rd in ingsbury. The village of FE is looking at a trail project that would route the trail through the old aqueduct. A bridge in that location needs improvements to do this. This project would eliminate using State St and Notre ame St. ikely there would need some traffic control work done to get the trail over to the Park as it would be entering a one-way street. The priority in Greenwich would seem to be finding ways to get the trail off the shoulder of R 113. The EST is following Rt 4, not using River Rd until the bridge is repaired. A great deal of activity is taking place north of Fort Ann. The proposed EST trail is to use lay Hill Rd which requires use of a very steep and winding part of the road. Efforts are being made to reroute that section of trail for the T by using lands owned by anal orp and a private campground. A meeting with the campground owners is planned for March 29 th. A second option is to look at potential crossings further north. The EST plans on crossing prison property to omstock, and then follow SR to Rt 4, using the shoulder of Rt 4 to the village of Whitehall. It appears there is no local support for this routing when it gets to Rt 4. OT is restriping Rt 4 to widen the shoulders. hazen ompanies, a consulting firm carrying out the HRVG grant with the Whitehall Arts ommission, has scheduled a meeting with local officials and OT to discuss the feasibility of a pedestrian bridge across the canal that would route the T to old state route 4.

13 Once at old state route 4, the T would follow the Power Express project up to a point just south of Ryder Rd. The next section of land to the north is owned by anal orp. The last piece of land to Ryder Rd is privately owned. iscussions have been undertaken with that landowner. It is expected that if the proposed T route is accomplished, that the EST would be relocated to that route as well. The Whitehall- Fort Ann T WG supports following the old canal from a point near Ryder Rd to Whitehall. The corridor is privately owned but all landowners are being contacted to assess interest in supporting the trail project. Acquisition sources are necessary. The SVRT consulting report has been issued and the stakeholders group and Town will begin to look at next steps to begin filling in the gaps in the trail. Actions and hallenges: Efforts are being made by the ounty Planner to develop a Points of Interest list for Washington ounty that could conceivably become part of trail connections to the T or the SVRT. Points of Interest includes viewsheds. Points of Interest information needs to include trail-user facilities with some notation of distance between them. Trails ommittee Mission Statement The Trails ommittee mission is to advocate for, support and promote the development of a county wide trail system that connects communities within Washington ounty as well as connections to trails outside the confines of the county for the purpose of recreation, economic development and historic appreciation. Trails ommittee Goals and Objectives Goals: reate a Master Plan Promote county wide collaboration Review and coordinate current trail grants oordinate Empire State Trail and hamplain analway Trail efforts Objectives Promote continuity throughout the ounty in order to increase tourism and recreation. Apply for grants as a group, not individually Eliminate plans that do not support the mission statement and goals. oordinate all efforts.
