1 Air Capital Corvette Club Newsletter Volume 37 - Issue 7 July, 2004 Air Capital Corvette Club Officers: President Kevin Mansfield Vice President David DaMetz Secretary Mary Mehl Treasurer Gary Henderson Officer at Large..... Connie Fitzgibbons N.C.C.C. Governor Linn Smith Newsletter Editor Kent Michael ACCC s Web Page Message from the Prez... We had a great meeting June 2nd, it is so wonderful to have so many of our great members come to the meetings and help with the club's business. The Drive-and-Eat this month was hosted by Monte & Chris Rans. They took us cruising North then East, and the CB chatter was wild with guesses about where we were going. We ended up at the King Fisher Inn at Marion Lake, where the service and the food were great. Thanks very much to Monte and Chris for hosting this great event. Oh by the way, don't use Chris' full name of Christine, I made that mistake and she told me that was only for when she was bad. We may have to get an explanation from Monte on that deal. It seemed like we were cursed by the rain this month. Some events were rained out and other events were rained on. I did finally determine that Corvettes WILL NOT MELT if they are rained on. The Road Trip to Lucas started out rainy but we pulled a last minute route change and drove around it, and ended up having a fantastic trip. We had nine cars, and we rolled into the sleepy little farm community about 11:00am and toured the Garden of Eden, then went to lunch. After lunch we toured the Grass Roots Art Center, (oh yes Betty Henderson lead a tour through a local junk shop, after she forced the people to open up) stopped by Brants Meat Market for some goodies to take home and then headed out of town. We drove the back roads to I135 where we got off at the little town of Samoan and stopped at the Hickory Tree Restaurant for some great Bar-B-Q (this was a super Drive-and-Eat). The upcoming meeting is our clubs Ice Cream Social event at Beech lake. Don't forget your Ice Cream or goodies or what ever you signed up to bring. We also want to take a club picture using the lake setting, so be sure to bring all or some of your corvettes and look pretty. We will have to do some club business even though we try to keep it light at this meeting. We will have a special election (be sure and bring a pen) to the E-Board and a few other votes and little things to talk about. See you at the meeting, Kevin. Page 1

The trip to Lucas, Kansas was discussed and it sounded like it was a success and we hope to have more trips like that in the future so please if anyone has any ideas pass them on. The Vice President David DaMetz has resigned do to conflicting working schedule so nomination for the position will be discussed at the next meeting. The treasurer report given by Gary Henderson is as follows savings $1, and the checking account has $ balance. The new shirts and jackets with the club logo on them are still being discussed and will be voted on at the next meeting. The July meeting at Beech Lake is our annual ice cream social and as long as it doesn t rain we are planning to take a club picture of all the cars and members.
