1 Cruise News PRESIDENTS MESSAGE October 2018 Well, autumn is here, and the California weather is holding up so that we can keep driving those street rods. I want to thank the members of the club that went out to the Encinitas run. A special thanks to all the Gang that attended the South Bay Cruisers annual Show on the Bay, OTHGSD received the Club Participation Trophy, along with Several members receiving individual trophies, Delores Jeffers, Mike Bohemke, and Vince Yamaksi, if you weren t there you missed a fun show. I want to thank Bill Hogue for stepping up and taking the leadership role of Streak 46 Chairman, Herb Johnson filling the role of Club Correspondence, and Carl Atkinson our new Raffle Girl for the club meetings. The club still needs someone to take over our club store, lets get some new faces that are motivated to keep the club store going. Streak 46 first meeting will be October 11 th, it would be great to see everyone come out and join in the excitement of building a committee, as well as selecting the different venues for your Streak. If you are not receiving club correspondence, please verify your address with the Club Secretary. Being able to drive a STREETROD- PRICELESS. Respectfully, Bruce McDowell, OTHGSDPresident

4 denise to Sep 28 at 10:13 PM hi, my name is Denise and I'm trying to find some help getting my dad involved in a car club in san diego. I realize you handle the newsletter but as it's the only listed, perhaps you could forward to the correct person? My dad is 83 and we recently moved him from his life long home in the Bay Area to a home near my sister in Escondido. He has had his '32 Ford Coupe since he was 16. Unfortunately he no longer drives or uses a computer so I am contacting you on his behalf. My brother in law takes him to the Cruisin Grand every week which he loves, but it would be so great if he could find some other over the hill guys to hang out with and talk cars and perhaps attend some other events Good morning Gang, Harry Davies reached out to me saying that the Phoenix Over the hill Gang retired from working the Scottsdale event last year and was asking if any of the San Diego club would be willing to work the event in Scottsdale. Good Guys would cover the camping expense just as they do here. There s no indoor parking, no indoor registration, he would only need help with Specialty parking and awards on Sunday, anyone interested please contact Debra. Thank you, Bruce McDowell OTHGSD President He could definitely stand to get out of the house!. Is there anyone in the Escondido area who might be willing to take an old car enthusiast under their wing? Thank you for your consideration, Denise Hamma 916/ OCTOBER 2018 Anniversaries Maury Lowe Bob & Suzie Chambers Jay & Linda Scarbrough Steve & Rosie Cushman Floyd & Penny Hilton Jim Sheridan Rick& Linda Heckman Dick & Linda Lane Leona Parker 22 years 19 years 19 years 9 years 2 years 2 years 1 year 1 year 1year
