1 Sons of Norway - Mandt Lodge News Fall 2014 Mandt Lodge in, WI Fra Presidenten It is with great honor and respect for all of your hard work and effort, that we can share the news that our lodge was named "International Lodge of the Year- Tier 1" for This is an amazing honor for the lodge and its efforts in building our lodge's membership, activities and outreach to the community. This is a team effort at Mandt and all of our members had a part of his great honor! The last time our lodge was recognized in this magnitude was back in 1976! Since then and especially the past years, we have focused our efforts and long-range planning on offering our members great programming, cultural arts opportunities, youth activities, a place to network with others, a place to build friendships, and somewhere to work hard and play hard! As I have said many times, the lodge members are like family to many of us and everyone plays a part in our success. We are at a very exciting time in the life of our lodge. We are growing in membership and have welcomed new members of all ages, interests and ideas. We have successful fundraisers and have been awarded grants that have allowed us to improve our building and resources. We have fun and I hope we make everyone including members, guests and visitors, feel welcome when they attend our events or walk through the doors. With the Norwegian Heritage Center being built next door and the opportunities it offers, we are moving forward with a renewed sense of heritage, culture and community awareness to the great things that lay ahead. John and I were honored and humbled to accept this award down in Jacksonville, Florida at the International Sons of Norway convention. But believe me, all of you were with us that night as we accepted the award. We remember and thank those members who are no longer with us but who put their time, effort and love of Sons of Norway into the foundation that has led us to this level. It's a team effort that has taken many years and all of our members should be honored! We will be celebrating at Mandt at our October 8 Mandt Fest and I want to congratulate and thank you for your membership. I look forward to seeing you soon as we enter our fall season of programs and activities. Fraternally, Darlene Arneson, President Pictured: John and Darlene Arneson accept the International Lodge of the Year Award from International President Jon Tehven. 1
