14 Ann Pitman Ann was born on June 4 th in Texas, where she later met her husband Gene. They were married for 65 wonderful years. Together, they have three girls who have given them four beautiful grandchildren. When their girls were young, they all lived in Nigeria, West Africa for seven years while Gene was a surgeon. Ann shared Gene s passion for helping those around them and was a Registered Nurse. With the same passion that drove her into her medical career, Ann also used her free time to teach international women to speak English as a second language, and continued doing so for forty years. Observing Ann, you ll be able to sense her caring nature immediately. She is a kind, beautiful soul, who we cannot get enough of! Selena Gallo We selected Selena for this month s Spotlight due to her consistent improvements and feel she deserves recognition for her progress! Selena is a big ray of sunshine in our corner. She fits right in to our Community family and cares deeply about the residents and their families. Selena said her favourite part about working for Carlton is seeing the residents. They always smile and say hello, and are just so nice! She loves hearing their stories and having conversations with them to learn about their lives. In her free time, Selena enjoys tending to her fish, going out with her boyfriend, and eating. Her favourite dishes include tamales and sushi (as long as the sushi doesn t include her fish!) After high school, Selena would like to find a career to continue helping people, whether that is as a lawyer, therapist, nurse, etc.
