The rest of the world, Europe participated with 33%, North America with 7%, and East Asia & Pacific with 6%. *** Destacada asistencia de los Buiatras de Latinoamérica al XXVI Congreso Mundial de Buiatría 2010 en Santiago de Chile. Belgrade has numerous attractions among which the most attractive ones are the above mentioned Fortress, Knez Mihajlova Street and Skadarlija where good national restaurants are. Also, over the bridge there is a Gardos hill in Zemun offering a magnificent view of the entire city. At the same time and location, we will also hold the Annual General Meeting of the ECBHM. With the emphasis on prevention through genetics and nutrition, and a workshop about the exceptional but also more delicate Belgian Blue breed of cattle, the scientific program will venture a little bit off the beaten track. However, traditional topics such as udder health, reproduction, metabolic diseases and infectious diseases including emergent diseases, parasitology, neonatology, lameness and welfare will not be neglected. Moreover, with the opening keynote of the congress about the responsible use of antibiotics, Veterinary Public Health will get the attention it deserves. One of the main objectives of this congress is to give interns and residents of the ECBHM a forum to present the results of their work. We will give out two awards: one for the best poster and the other one for the best presentation. The year 2011 coincides with the 175 th anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Liège and with the 30 th anniversary of the first Belgian buiatrics congress held in Brussels. We are honored that the University of Liège has put a modern complex at our disposal on the campus of Sart-Tilman/Liege, i.e. the Amphithéâtres de l Europe. Three modern amphitheatres that seat 600, 300 and 200 people respectively, an exhibition hall and various meeting rooms as well as a nearby restaurant will be available to us. Belgian cattle practitioners are very hard workers but they also like to play hard! They hope you will come to Belgium to share with them the latest progress in bovine health management in a unique and fun atmosphere.
