Our Hotel is in an excellent position, close to all the activities on the esplanade, also the Marina & Casino. Tonight we have a group Dinner with our fellow travellers. Pacific International Hotel - Cairns Ph Thu 23 rd Today we Tour some of Queensland s prettiest coastline before visiting Wildlife Habitat which has much of Queensland s irds & Crocodile on display. This includes the illusive Cassowary. We continue onto Port Douglass then Daintree Village where we have a Cruise on the Daintree River before returning to Cairns. Dinner Own Expense. Fri 24 th,d Today we make our way into the Atherton Tablelands visiting Milla Milla Falls, Nevada Tea, Malanda Dairy Centre. We learn about Coffee Growing & continue through Mareeba and onto Cairns for a Group Dinner. Sat 25 th This morning we catch the Train to Kuranda, spend some time in the Kuranda Village, before taking the Skyrail back down the mountain. Dinner Own Expense. Sun 26 th We enjoy a Cruise to Green Island. Here we have included Glass ottom oat Coral Viewing & some time on Green Island. Returning to Cairns. Dinner Own Expense. Mon 27 th A completely Free Day. We will offer some suggestions perhaps a 4WD Tour to Cape Tribulation & loomfield Track to Cooktown (this option must be pre booked & we will do so on your behalf). Dinner Own Expense. Tues 28 th,d We head south to Paronella Park, a castle in the Jungle. Onto Innisfail & learn about the sugar Industry. Visit Mission each & Tully, Australia s wettest town. We return to Cairns for a group Dinner. Wed 29 th For those who wish to end the Tour you will fly home & will be met at Adelaide airport. For those who wish to do the 4 Day Savannahlander you will be taken to the train station. Or for those who wish to do the 3 Day Air Safari to Cape York & Weipa you will also be taken to the airport. This package includes your rail fare, on-tour transfers, accommodation and dinner/breakfast at your overnight accommodation. Your trip features: Travel on the Savannahlander from Cairns to Forsayth and Einasleigh to Cairns. En-suite accommodation in Chillagoe with one of our accommodation providers, either the Chillagoe Eco Lodge, Chillagoe Motel or Chillagoe Cabins as availability dictates. A tour in the afternoon of the Chillagoe Caves and Town. En-suited accommodation in Cobbold Gorge or Forsayth at Finnigans Rest. We will generally book your stay at Cobbold Gorge, however as the season progresses you may stay in Forsayth as required by availability. Regardless of where you stay Forsayth or Cobbold Gorge, will be enjoying the Cobbold Gorge oat Cruise. En-suited accommodation at the edrock Village Van Park or Mt Surprise Motel in Mt Surprise. You may choose to stay at the Undara Lava Lodge but please check the availabilities first, and note this at the time of booking on your booking form. With both Mt Surprise and Undara stays, you can enjoy a tour of the wonderful Undara Lava Tubes. All in-tour transfers as required. 3 dinners and 3 breakfasts. Notes: A fair level of mobility is required for the The Undara Lava Tubes tour as it does include around 300 stairs. They are properly constructed and maintained with landings and some rest benches. 4 3 Day Cape York, Cooktown, Weipa & Thursday Islands Air Tour Local Pilot Guide, Tour Cooktown & Museum, Tour Horn Island, Thursday Island & township, Tour Weipa Township & Mine, Lunch at Musgrave Station Day 1 L&D Departing Cairns at 8.30am your scenic flight takes you out over the arrier Reef. You will view Endeavour Reef where Cooks ship went aground in 1770, then on past the Hope Isles, named by Cook hoping they could get there to make temporary repairs & then to Cooktown. Enjoy a historical tour of the area, taking in information of Captain Cooks visit through to the Gold Rush days that brought miners from round the world, to today s more relaxed lifestyle. Your tour of Cooktown includes all points of interest in town, see where the Endeavour was rebuilt; Cooks Monument & the ship's cannon are all in the museum! Enjoy the view from grassy hill lookout & Pioneer Cemetery before enjoying a well-earned break over lunch at the local RSL. There is also some free time to explore the township & do some souvenir shopping. Departing Cooktown at 1.30pm as your flight takes you past Lizard Island with its magnificent lue Lagoon, Cape Melville renowned for massive bolder formations; learn about the underground rivers & origins of the Fox Tait Palm. See Princess Charlotte ay, Lockhart River, the remote tropical wilderness as you fly around Cape York Australia s northernmost point, then over the Torres Straits to Horn Island. Stop at Horn Island for your overnight at the Gateway Resort. The later part of the afternoon offers free time to explore the island's Heritage Museum and Art Gallery both of which display a comprehensive coverage of the Islander's traditional lifestyle, encompassing local culture, myths & of course the legendary pearling days when fleets of lugers combed the starts for its riches & the wartime history of the nation's front line defences! Day 2,L&D reakfast 7.30am at Hotel before taking a walk (5 minutes) down to the jetty for our ferry cruise to fascinating Thursday Island. Once a remote outpost of the ritish Empire & vital port serving shipping through the straits, hosting a valuable pearling industry & now the administrative centre for the Torres Strait Islands. Your tour takes you through areas that have changed little in time, past historical Customs House & old hotels dotted amongst modern teaching & medical facilities, along to Green Hill Fort which was built to defend agents from the Russians in Crimean War days, replete with its underground museum & spectacular views of the surrounding islands, Prince of Wales Island, Horn Island, Good Island, Hammond Island & Friday Island with its pearling station. Enjoy diner with a complimentary wine while watching the beautiful sunset into the Gulf of Carpentaria Sea Day3 &L After a relaxing evening spent in Weipa & an early morning breakfast, it's time to take a tour of the area. Weipa was once a remote mission & is now host to vast bauxite mining operation, an enterprise to be admired that has grown from its rugged beginnings to become a major supplier to the international market supported by a wellestablished, diverse & modem community. After morning tea at the shopping centre we fly over Coen in the centre of the 'Cape', landing at the Musgrave Station in time for lunch. Here we may cross paths and have a yarn with the 4WD travellers as they tackle their arduous adventure to 'The Cape'. Then it s time to make your way back to Cairns, flying over Laura, the magnificent Rainforest lined Daintree River Valley & Port Douglas, the views are sublime, you can look down on the inland river systems & homesteads of Cape York all day long. Arrive back into Cairns in the late afternoon after a fabulous three day tour & memories of the Cape and Outback that will last you a lifetime!
