TE NULLABO LAIN Meaning no trees in Latin, the Nullarbor lain extends north towards the Great Victoria Desert. The Eyre ighway skirts the southern edge of this vast wilderness, and near the Nullarbor oadhouse motorists will experience several kilometres of barren landscape. EUCLA Eucla was first established as a settlement in to enable direct telegraphic communications between Adelaide and erth. The partly visible ruins of the old telegraph station have succumbed to the drifting sands. The rolling surf of the Great Australian Bight is within walking distance. WALE WATCING Southern ight Whales congregate at the head of the Great Australian Bight to mate and calve. During whale watching season st May to st October whale watching passes are available from the Whale Watch Interpretive Centre at the ead of Bight. Opening hours are :am to :pm.
