3 SHENZHEN CONCERT HALL FOR PRE-CONCERT TOUR, MUSIC TALK FOLLOWED BY HK PHIL CONCERT HK PHIL CONCERT PROGRAM AT SHENZHEN CONCERT HALL MENDELSSOHN: A Midsummer Night s Dream: Overture MENDELSSOHN: Piano Concerto no. 1 MAHLER: Symphony no. 4 Concluding for this season the HK Phil s two-year traversal of Mahler s symphonies, Maestro Yu Long leads the composer s sunniest and most approachable: the Fourth, whose ethereal last movement describes a child s vision of heavenly life overflowing bowls of tasty food, 11,000 maidens dancing, singing angels joining in the jubilation, and St. Cecilia and her kindred musicians radiantly portrayed by soprano Rao Lan ( Her voice is phenomenal in size, nuances and coloration Süddeutsche Post). Sharing the program is the amazing 13-year-old Serena Wang in Mendelssohn s bravura Piano Concerto no. 1. The concert is opened by an overture of dancing fairies and romantic lovers, all beautifully crafted in Mendelssohn s dream of midsummer.

4 CHINA GLOBAL PHILANTHROPY INSTITUTE (CGPI) China Global Philanthropy Institute (CGPI) is a philanthropic organization committed to supporting innovative, high-impact philanthropy through education and training. Founded in 2015 by prominent Chinese and American philanthropists, Bill Gates, Ray Dalio, Niu Gensheng, He Qiaonyu, and Ye Qingjun, the institute instills thoughtful philanthropists and talented professionals with the skills and creative drive necessary to become the world's next global leaders for change. CGPI is a private, independent, educational organization headquartered in Shenzhen, with an office in Beijing and official partner organizations throughout the world. It is registered under the Shenzhen Ministry of Civil Affairs and approved by the Shenzhen Ministry of Education. Emphasizing practical learning, CGPI trains Chinese philanthropists and nonprofit executives how to launch effective giving, expand their social impact and improve outcomes. As part of its core mission, CGPI supports the flow of ideas between China and the world, acting as a think-tank for new models and methods which advance global philanthropy. CGPI is in the process of compiling key domestic and international case studies that serve as a core component of their educational programs. Professional training programs and research will eventually expand to include nonprofit management, social enterprise/innovation, family philanthropy and legacy,social service/work, and nonprofit fundraising. CGPI is governed by a diverse board of directors, which includes representatives from the founding charitable organizations and other esteemed experts. Ma Weihua, Former President and CEO of China Merchants Bank, is the institute s first chairman of the board. Wang Zhenyao Dean, professor of the Beijing Normal University, is the president of China Global Philanthropy Institute. Drawing upon support from its multi-national leadership, CGPI has created a global philanthropy education alliance which includes major philanthropists, internationally renowned universities, influential foundations, and nonprofit organizations. The alliance encourages greater professionalization within the philanthropic sector, while providing a platform for greater understanding, exchange, and cooperation.

17 Guan Lan Print Artists Village 观澜版画村 Guan Lan Print Artists Village 观澜版画村, located in BaoAn district, Shenzhen. The village features galleries and studios of print artists. It is a platform of exhibition and trade for print. Right next to the village, there are flower fields and strawberry farms.
