Its mission is to implement innovative solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality in the two county, Austin metro area. The Mobility Authority has evolved into a vibrant, agile and highly effective organization. It operates the 11.6-mile 183A toll road in Williamson County and is working to construct phase two of the US 290 East (Manor Expressway) toll road. Construction will soon start on Express Lanes along an 11-mile stretch of MoPac (Loop 1) a central corridor in the city and the Authority is collaborating with local, regional and state agencies and governments on environmental studies along five other transportation corridors in the Austin area.
