1 WICET WIGGINS ISLAND COAL EXPORT TERMINAL

2 WICET Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) is Queensland s newest, state-of-the-art coal export facility, which is a $2.6 billion industry-owned and privately funded infrastructure development. WICET s first stage is owned by the original consortium of eight Australian and international resources companies: Aquila Resources, Bandanna Energy, Caledon Coal, Cockatoo Coal, Glencore, New Hope, Wesfarmers Curragh and Yancoal. WICET provides 27 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of new export capacity from the Port of Gladstone. Under the Terminal Master Plan, throughput of approximately 20mtpa could be achieved. Current environmental and planning approvals allow up to 84mtpa throughput. Terminal handling charges are based on cost recovery to assist the competitiveness of the Queensland coal export industry.

9 HEALTH SAFETY & THE ENVIRONMENT WICET maintains a steadfast commitment to its health, safety and environmental obligations to ensure a safe workplace for all concerned. Listed below are some of our HS&E highlights: WICET Stage One was constructed over a period of 36 days involving 9,235,000 man hours with zero fatalities WICET has been designed to minimise impact on the Gladstone community, and is remote from built up areas Coal trains to and from WICET bypass residential areas All elevated conveyors and overwater conveyors are fitted with a roof, a wall (on the windward side) and a floor to control dust All water runoff from coal handling areas is captured in settlement ponds and reused to mitigate dust emissions WICET has been configured so that additional storage and coal handling facilities can be easily installed without interrupting the operation of Stage One 7

10 COMMUNITY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WICET values a strong and productive working relationship with the local Gladstone community, working constructively and consultatively with state and local authorities, community representatives, non-government organisations and other stakeholders. To date, WICET has invested approximately $70 million into the Gladstone community which includes a $37M upgrade of the Gladstone Mt Larcom Road and a $35 million investment in the East Shores Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct. East Shores, which opened in November 204, provides the Gladstone community and its visitors access to their own world class recreational waterfront development The precinct was delivered in partnership with the Gladstone Ports Corporation who contributed the site and a further $7 million. 8
