1 19 April 2016 Final Store Closure Dates for Dick Smith Stores On 25 February, 2016 Receivers and Managers to Dick Smith Holdings and associated entities, Mr James Stewart, Mr Jim Sarantinos and Mr Ryan Eagle of Ferrier Hodgson announced the closure of the Dick Smith stores in Australia and New Zealand. The Receivers have now notified all stores of their exact closure date (see attached schedule). Receiver James Stewart said We would like to thank the Dick Smith employees for their support during the Receivership. This has been a difficult and uncertain time for them and we have really appreciated their assistance and commitment. All Australian employee entitlements rank as priority unsecured claims ahead of the secured creditors and are expected to be paid in full. Preferential entitlements of New Zealand employees rank ahead of the secured creditors, and are expected to be paid in full up to a maximum statutory limit of NZD$22,160 under New Zealand law. It is anticipated that the payment of employee entitlements including annual and long service leave should be completed by mid-june Please refer to the following websites for updates.
