1 Bellefonte Victorian Christmas 2011 Schedule of Events The 30th Annual Bellefonte Victorian Christmas will be held on, Friday evening, December 9th, Saturday, December 10th, and Sunday, December 11 th,2011. You are invited to gather at the Bellefonte Elementary School to be greeted on the front steps by Mr. Dickens and candlelight carolers Friday, December 9th at 6:30 PM. Opening Ceremony will be held at the Bellefonte Elementary School Auditorium featuring the Bellefonte Community Band, the Nittany Knights, the Bellefonte Elementary School 4 th & 5 th grade Choir, Middle School Women s Chorale, St. John s Elementary School Choir, and some other special performances, including a preview performance of It s A Dickens Holiday Show! A Cookie and Hot Chocolate reception provided by the Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206 in the hallway beside the auditorium will be held immediately following Opening Ceremony. A Gaslight Gala with Charles Dickens Kick off the event weekend with a posh themed evening of exquisite comestibles, elegant service, top-notch entertainment, and top of the shelf libations. Professional singers, actors, and musicians present Victorian traditions like the Yule Log Ceremony, the Cheese Contest, cameo solos and Dickens ever popular staging A Christmas Carol Victorian Costumes encouraged but not required. Thursday Evening, December 8th, 7:00pm Location: American Philatelic Society Building, 100 Match Factory Place Cost: $75.00 per person. Arts & Crafts Show In cooperation with: Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association and The Bellefonte Arts & Craft Fair Committee Vendors will display and sell their wares on: Saturday, 9:00am 5:00pm Sunday, 11:00am 4:00pm. Locations: Bellefonte YMCA on High Street, the Bellefonte Elementary School on the corner of Allegheny and Linn Streets, and the Bellefonte Middle School on School Street. Food Concessions will be available at each venue Bellefonte Woman s Club Homes Tour In cooperation with the Bellefonte Women s Club and the Homes Tour Committee Saturday 2:00pm -7:00pm Admission: Adults $10.00 Children under 12 $5.00 Pre-sale tickets & full brochures with full listing of homes on tour will be available at Plumbs Drug Store, CO2,Woodring s Bellefonte and State College, and the Train Station in Bellefonte. Allegheny Street Call for reservations and information Free art sessions for children called, "Art with Artists for kids 1 to4 pm, no need to preregister. Activities will include making cards and decorations for the holidays. Parents must accompany children to the museum. Breakfast With Santa and Victorian Christmas Children s Party Saturday 8:30am 11:30am Full Breakfast will be served Cost: $5.00 per adult $3.00 per child. Seating is limited **Children may visit with Santa even if they do not participate in Breakfast. Battery C and Battery B participants will be dressed in period uniforms and dress to add to the festivities. FREE Shuttle Bus Service & Parking Saturday 9:30am 7:00pm Sunday 10:30am 5:00pm Parking is available at the Bellefonte Middle School and High School parking lots. Shuttle pick up and drop off will be at the Middle School and High School parking lots, in front of the Courthouse on Allegheny Street, and at the corner of N. Allegheny Street and Linn Street across from the Elementary School. Enjoy a tour and view some of the beautiful Victorian homes and architecture on your ride back to the Middle School and High School. Before taking the shuttle, make sure to visit the third Arts & Crafts Venue at the Bellefonte Middle School Gymnasium
6 Bellefonte Victorian Christmas Ornament for 2011 A Limited Addition Christmas Ornament is available for sale this year featuring a photo by Mark Houser, each ornament is initialed by the photographer. Cost: $15.00 each Ornaments will be available at Victorian Rose, CO2, Bellefonte Inter Valley Area Chamber of Commerce at the Train Station, Bellefonte Museum for Centre County, and the information booths provided by HBI. The Days of Victorian Christmas Game Offered by: The Bellefonte Downtown Merchants and Restaurants Saturday and Sunday Visit the Bellefonte shops and restaurants to pick up your game piece and instructions to participate. Take completed game piece to the Museum for Centre County, at 133 N. Allegheny St. to enter a drawing for a Bellefonte Basket containing merchandise from participating merchants, restaurants, and the Bellefonte Victorian Christmas committee. Drawing will be held at the Bellefonte Victorian Community Choir Concert on Sunday evening.
