11 05 General Information SEOUL Seoul has been the capital city of Korea for more than 600 years. Its population is around 10 millions, about 20 percent of the total population of Korea. For more information on Seoul, Please visit: CLIMATE Seoul has four seasons. The yearly average temperature is 11.1 C. Average daily temperature in September for the past 3 years was 22.1 C with lows at 17.7 C and highs at 27.0 C. The average annual precipitation is 1,451mm with only 26mm in September. CURRENCY & BANKING The official unit of the Korean currency is the Won (KRW). The exchange rate of 1 USD is equivalent to approximately KRW 1, (as of 10 September 2018). Currency exchanges are available at banks, airports and major hotels. ATM services are available at most hotels. Tipping is not expected in most restaurants and hotels.
