10 16 OCTOBER OCTOBER Hon ble MR inaugurated the Solar Park at Ratnagiri. The foundation stone for the same was laid by him on January 4, Bhoomi Poojan for halt station at Veravali and station inauguration on 25 MARCH

20 Food / Beverage items like Kokan syrup, Mango wadi, Mango Squash, Shengana Ladu, Boondi Ladu, Poha Ladu, Rice Papad, etc. produced by Self-Help Groups associated with Cottage Industries can sell their products through Konkan Meva stalls at Railway Stations. PROMOTION OF SELF HELP GROUP At present 14 Konkan Meva stall have been provided Stations on Konkan Route in Maharashtra (Khed, Chiplun, Aravali Road, Sangameshwa, Ratngiri, Nivsar, Vilavade, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon, Kankavali, Sindhudurg,Kudal & Sawantwadi.) (Kamathe, Savarde, Adavali, Rajapur Road Closed). This was initiated by Hon ble MR to support these Self-Help Groups. E-catering by IRCTC/NABARD/Self-Help Groups started at Sawantwadi station from 3rd December 2016.

21 TRAINING OF AUTO & TAXI DRIVERS Auto and Taxi Drivers were imparted training by the Tourism Department to work as Tourist Guide. which was organized at Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal and Sawantwadi stations in Maharashtra. Till now more than 2000 drivers are trained. ETHNIC STALL As a part of initiative to reach the richness of local quisine to the tourists travelling / visiting Konkan region, Ethnic stalls have been provided at Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali and Sawantwadi Road Stations in Maharashtra State. (Total 9 stations, 4 in Maharashtra and 5 in Karnataka)

22 JAIGARH DIGNI RAIL LINK Signed Concession Agreement between KRCL and Jaigarh Digni Rail Link on 28th June PRESENT STATUS Procurement of land is in progress and work is likely to start when land has been acquired. The tendering process for this project is in progress. The estimated construction period for this project is 30 months. It will generate a traffic of 8 Million Tonnes Per Annum in the first two years and 12 Million Tonnes Per Annum each in the subsequent years

23 CAPACITY AUGMENTATION WORKS Proposal for 147 km patch doubling of critical portion and 21 new crossing stations on Konkan Railway at an estimated cost of `4980 Cr is under progress.

26 SPECIAL TRAINS On request of Hon ble Minister of Tourism, Govt. of Goa, to facilitate tourists visiting Goa during Christmas and New Year, special trains were run in coordination with IRCTC in Special trains from Goa to Velankanni during the feast 2016

32 INSTITUTIONS Hon ble MR has laid the foundation stone for setting up GEORGE FERNANDES INSTITUTE FOR TUNNEL TECHNOLOGY a specialized institute for higher learning and research in tunneling on Course started on 4th Nov Number of courses conducted - 3 nos. Number of people trained - 48

33 09 FEBRUARY Konkan Railway signs MoU with Hagerbech Test Gallery, Switzerland (VSH) for collaboration in providing specialized training in Tunnel Technology at George Fernandes Institute for Tunnel Technology (GFITT), Goa a premier Centre for knowledge of Tunneling in India.

36 9 FEBRUARY Remote Flagging off of Inaugural Service of Mookambika Road Byndoor Kasargod Passenger Train by Hon'ble MR. 8AUGUST As Flagging off of Extension of Karwar Madgaon DEMU services to Pernem (6 days a week) from Pernem Station by Hon ble MR. a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Green Initiatives Hon ble MR inaugurated and commissioned an Organic Waste Converter machine, at Karwar colony on 30 MARCH

37 Various Passenger Amenities Works including shifting of Station Building, new platform, modular shelters, Retiring rooms, Waiting rooms was taken up at Mookambika Road Byndoor station. PRS at Seabird Naval Base Karwar has been commissioned on 15 JULY Extension of Platform No.1 at Udupi Station Manual Train Chartering system has been upgraded with Electronic Train Reservation Chart Display System at Udupi.

41 ETHNIC STALL As a part of initiative to reach the richness of local quisine to the tourists travelling / visiting Konkan region, Ethnic stalls have been allotted at Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor & Udupi stations. (Total 9 stations, 5 in Karnataka and 4 in Maharashtra ). 43 Signed Concession Agreement Ministry of Railways JAIGARH DIGNI RAIL LINK between KRCL and Jaigarh Digni Rail Link on 28th June Present status: Procurement of land is in progress and work is likely to start when land has been acquired. The tendering process for this project is in progress. The estimated construction period for this project is 30 months. It will generate a traffic of 8 Million Tonnes Per Annum in the first two years and 12 Million Tonnes Per Annum each in the subsequent years. VAIBHAVWADI - KOLHAPUR RAIL LINK has allocated `250 Cr. for the financial year (in the pink book) for construction of 107 km rail link between Vaibhavwadi- Kolhapur.

(Crossing stations :- 1) Indapur, 2) Goregaon Road, 3) Sape Wamane, 4) Kalbani, 5) Kadwai, 6) Pomendi, 7) Verawali, 8) Kharepatan, 9) Achirne, 10) Mirjan & 11) Innange Proposal for 147 km patch doubling of critical portion and 21 new crossing stations on Konkan Railway at an estimated cost of `4980 Cr is under progress.

45 MULTI MODAL LOGISTICS PARK AT BALLI STATION OF KONKAN RAILWAY CONCOR & Konkan Railway have entered into a MoU to set up a Multi Modal Logistics Park at Balli Railway Station, which will be a first of its kind in Goa. CONCOR will be initially investing Rs. 30 Crores to set up this Logistics Park. Konkan Railway has made available to CONCOR its vacant land at Balli for a nominal licence fee to set up this facility. The facility will be initially spread over 94,000 square meters with scope to expand as traffic grows. This Logistics Park will be able to handle both Domestic and Exim container traffic. In additional to container traffic, commodities transported by both open and covered wagons can also be handled from here square meters of Custom Bonded Warehousing space is being created in the first phase and a host of value added services like stuffing, repackaging etc will be available to its users. Both Trade & Industry in Goa will greatly benefit from the economic transport solutions & state of the art facilities that CONCOR will be providing in partnership with Konkan Railway at this facility. In the first year operations itself, the facility will be handling 15 rakes in a month.

46 ROLLING STOCK COMPONENTS FACTORY The proposed Rolling Stock Components Factory for re-conditioning / remanufacturing of important safety and critical components like CTRB, Couplings, Draft Gear, Brake System etc. These components will be fitted as unit exchanges by Matunga, Parel, Pratapnagar, Raipur and Jhansi Workshops to bring down duration of POH and improving quality of components. Approx. Cost ` Cr. MANGALORE REFINERIES & PETROCHEMICALS LIMITED M/s MRPL has given their letter of consent for setting up a Private Railway Siding at Thokur as its Serving station. This siding will generate close to 1 million tons of originating loading for Konkan Railway. The approximate project cost will be `82 Cr.
