1 Part 3 Middle East Chapter 3 1 UPRs Note: These procedures must be read in conjunction with Part 1 Introduction and General Rules UPRs Transition between Flex Track and UPRs Operators may generate and flight plan UPRs between the Middle East and Australia, within the designated airspace, Appendix A UPR Airspace Indian Ocean, that meet the following criteria: a. Between the southeast gates and Australian ports the flight plan must be via the required route structure or as specified b. The use of UPRs is restricted to the oceanic portion of flight however if a suitable published Flex Track is available the UPR may join a valid Flex Track. Operators may transition from a UPR to a valid Flex Track (eastbound) or from a Flex Track to a UPR (westbound) that meets the following criteria: a. The transition must occur at a waypoint in the UPR Airspace Indian Ocean (See Appendix A UPR Airspace Indian Ocean) or at a position on the boundary, that is part of the Flex Track. Note: Flex Track rules apply outside of the UPR Airspace Indian Ocean Off Air Routes Planning Manual (OARP) 3 1
