FARNBOROUGH CENTRAL (Empress and Town Centre Wards) Your SNT team are: PC David Carpenter PCSO Ricky Chappell PCSO Michelle Curtis The past month has been a busy but productive one. Firstly we had many reports of youths on push bikes pulling wheelies in both the town centre and Pinehurst car parks. We worked in partnership with the Council to deal with these youths robustly and identify them. We have received a few reports of criminal damage to taxis whereby youths were throwing stones at the taxis as they drove around Pinehurst roundabout. We conducted an operation whereby two people were detained, admitted the offence and are currently being dealt with in the Justice System. Speedwatch results: 06/09/2017 Rectory Road. Total vehicles checked 282, 12 were found to be exceeding the enforced speed limit. Upcoming Events Join us and local Councillors on Friday 27th October at 1900hrs for our Beat Forum. This is an opportunity to set priorities for the next six months. This is to be held at Rushmoor Borough Council Offices. The new Public Space Protection Order commenced on the 1st of this month, which allows officers to require people to stop doing certain things such as loitering and causing anti-social behaviour, drinking alcohol, using drugs, loitering with the intent of begging and urinating. Failure to comply with an officer s direction, Police or Council, could result in a fine of 100. We have had one report of pedal cycle theft. We urge members of the public to ensure that their bike is secure and safe. We recommend a D-style lock, which are available from PCSO Max Clayton if required, at 20; which is a 50% saving on their retail price. Finally, with the darker evenings approaching, we wish to remind people to ensure that household security is in order for example, external lighting etc. 1. Anti-social behaviour in both the town centre and Pinehurst car parks 2. Road traffic offences- Vehicles speeding in the area have been identified as a community priority. We are working in partnership with Speed Watch to identify most affected roads. Roads recently monitored by Speed Watch was Rectory Road. 3. Burglaries

FARNBOROUGH NORTH (Fernhill & Cherrywood Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Mark Ranola PC Katherine Armstrong PCSO Gordon Pengilley PCSO Mitch While PCSO Kirstan Bough So, all the children have gone back to school, Summer is over and the rain has set in. Our three main priorities for Farnborough North are Anti- Social Behaviour (ASB), burglaries and speeding - which will be discussed below in the Community Priority updates. PCSO Gordon Pengilley has had a busy month attending events across the Beat. He attended Farnborough Sixth Form College Fresher Fayre, not to sign up as a student unfortunately, but to recruit volunteers to be part of the Student Watch scheme. The Student Watch scheme encourages people to work with the police, but as part of the community, ranging from assisting with speed watch to organised events to promote crime prevention advice etc. This is a rewarding scheme, as it gives students a good insight into policing and working with the local community and Police. PCSO Gordon Pengilley has also attended the Hawley Gardens event day. The sun was shining and it was a really good turnout. There were farm animals, food, lots of fun activities and even paint-a-rock, which PCSO Max Clayton thoroughly enjoyed, donating his decorated rock to the local community. Hasn t Max done a fine job decorating his rock? or post it publicly online and therefore anyone with the link can send anonymous messages to you. You, as the recipient, have no way of knowing who has posted the message and you can t respond in any way to it. So, this is just to make you aware, especially parents, to check if your children have this app. This could become another way of people sending horrible, unnecessary messages that may cause upset. We too have no means or ways of identifying who had sent the message, so in order to prevent such incidents occurring, advice is that Sarahah may not be an appropriate app that your child has on their phone or computer. If your child does suffer from bullying, first port of call is to make the schools aware, as they are best placed to deal with and prevent it escalating. We would also like to make you aware of recent scams that are being conducted within HART and RUSHMOOR areas at the moment. There are people going around stating that they have lost their wallet or belongings, been locked out of their house, or that their car has broken down. They require money to help ease their situation and are asking for any amount, albeit mostly small amounts. Sometimes they give their name, address and mobile number to the member of public and promise that they will return the money either the next day or via a bank transfer. However, this never happens. If you are approached by anyone asking for money, do not part with your money and call Police via Burglary in Farnborough North Ward Burglary: There is a new online social media app called Sarahah, which I would like to make you aware of. It is an anonymous messaging service. Once a user registers, they can pass the link onto friends This month we have had only one reported burglary other than from a dwelling. The incident happened between 1800hrs on 7th Sept and 0830hrs on 8th Sept, along CHAPEL LANE. A garage door was broken into and a Wacker Plate stolen. If you recall noticing anything suspicious for this incident, please phone continued

FARNBOROUGH NORTH (Fernhill & Cherrywood Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Mark Ranola PC Katherine Armstrong PCSO Gordon Pengilley PCSO Mitch While PCSO Kirstan Bough..continued () If you are going away for a long period of time, we advise that if possible, you inform your neighbours and ask that they keep an eye on your property. Also, do not leave any valuable items on display in your address. The following link will take you to Hampshire police website, where you can receive information on crime prevention advice 2. Anti-Social Behaviour in Farnborough North ward Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Farnborough North continues to have a low amount of ASB reports, but Police continue to regularly patrol hot spot areas and deal robustly with any offences. Even though we have seen a reduction in ASB reports across the ward this month, we still have a few reports related to vehicles continuing to drive in an anti-social manner in Farnborough Town Football Club s car park. Police patrol the area regularly in order to identify those responsible. 3. Road traffic offences in Farnborough North ward Speedwatch Hawley Lane and Fernhill Road were unfortunately cancelled this month. 25th Sept - Sandy Lane. Total vehicles checked 385, 15 of which were found to be exceeding the enforced speed limit. Upcoming Events Don t forget, Beat Forums are held with Police and local Councillors on the first Saturday of every month between 10am and 12noon at the Fox Pub, Chapel Lane. At these forums you can come and ask questions about issues that are affecting you. Police will look to deal with this type of offence by issuing proceedings under S.59 of the Police Reform Act. If vehicles are sighted by Police on two occasions, action will be taken to seize the vehicle. This will involve a significant financial cost for the owner when they wish for the vehicle to be returned. Police and the Council are reviewing possible long term solutions to tackle the problem. This month s decrease in ASB is especially noted around the parks on our Beat. This may be down to changes in the weather, children going back to school and/or Police patrols of the areas spreading the word that ASB is not acceptable and that we have many ways by which ASB can be dealt with. We now have an ASB warning ticket that can be issued to anyone causing ASB. It is recorded on a shared database with Safer North Hampshire and a letter is sent to the home address of the child. We will continue to patrol known hotspot areas and any areas brought to our attention by our community.

FARNBOROUGH SOUTH (Knellwood & St Marks Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Mark Hoban PCSO Terry Wellerd SC Dave Browning This month, the Neighbourhood Policing Team attended the Fresher s Fayre at Farnborough College of Technology. We were signing up students to the Student Watch scheme. The scheme is made up of volunteer students who want to work with the local policing team to tackle crime in the community. We aim to do this by running crime prevention initiatives in the college and local community. Any students that complete ten or more initiatives will receive a certificate and reference from the Police to add to their CV. In previous years there has not been much interest, but this year we have had a lot of students sign up. From a crime perspective, the past month has been relatively quiet with no obvious series of incidents. With Burglary being one of our residents main concerns, it has been good to see that the number of burglaries has dropped during this period. In fact the only dwelling burglary we had reported this month had no items taken. The other non-dwelling burglaries reported were all businesses and no members of staff were present at the time. One of the businesses broken into was the Co-op on Woburn Avenue. If you have seen or heard any information that may help us track down the suspects, please report this on Burglaries There has only been one dwelling burglary this month and four non-dwelling burglaries, all of which were to businesses. None of the burglaries appear to be linked and all happened on separate days. As we go into the colder half of the year we hope to see a reduction in the number of burglaries being committed. You can help this by taking measures to make your home less appealing to burglars. iii. hedges low and use motion sensitive lighting to put them off. Window alarms if you ve never heard of them search for them on the internet. They are very cheap, but very effective. Attached to the window they sound an alarm if they detect a vibration. There are many other ways to protect your home - see the Hampshire Constabulary website for more. 2. Road Safety Speedwatch The Speedwatch team have continued to carry out their patrols to catch out the speeders in our area. This month they monitored the traffic on Sycamore Road and caught three vehicles out of a monitored 96. Letters will be in the post to these drivers. Unfortunately the Lynchford Road patrol had to be cancelled this month due to staffing issues. The Speedwatch team are looking for more volunteers. If you can spare some of your time and would like to help make Farnborough s roads a little safer then please contact us at rushmoor.police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk 3. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) As predicted last month, the amount of ASB being reported has dropped significantly. We have only had a couple of reports for both Queens Road and King George V parks where we have been focusing our efforts. All incidents happened on the weekends and the Neighbourhood s team deployed to the majority found youths had left the area before they had even arrived. No events currently planned. Upcoming events i. Consider the use of CCTV to cover your property. It is a great deterrent as well as a useful aid for Police should anything happen. ii. Burglars love being hidden from view, so keep

FARNBOROUGH WEST (Cove & Southwood Ward, St John s Ward & West Heath Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Lee Jeffers PCSO Lisa Attwood PCSO Max Clayton In September, we noticed a significant decrease in antisocial behaviour (ASB) linked to the school holidays. However the Montgomery Road flats and Brookhouse areas had hosted its share of nuisance and criminal damage. We have been targeting our patrols around the Montgomery Road flats and have been conducting joint agency visits to some of the addresses of involved trouble makers with Vivid Housing. We will continue to monitor the situation and deal with any ASB/crime robustly. There have been two unrelated spates of vehicle crime: i. We noticed Ford Transits were being broken into without any damage earlier in the month and tools and electronics were being taken. ii. Later in the month there were incidents where vehicles were being checked in the night and multiple vehicle owners had had items taken due to their vehicle(s) being unlocked/insecure. We would like to advise all residents not to leave valuables in vehicles and to ensure they are secure and parked in the safest possible location (garage/driveway/near streetlights/car park with CCTV). The Farnborough West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are continuing with their programme of canvassing residents for Hants Alert in some of the areas in which there is little or no Neighbourhood Watch coverage. During May 2017 your local NPT canvassed the areas of Keith Lucas Road and Godden Crescent. If you would like to register to receive information direct from the police and other partner organisations then please visit the website: Upcoming Events Your Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding the following surgeries: 1st Saturday each month, 10am to midday in the restaurant at The Plough & Horses, Fleet Road, Farnborough. Community Policing talk at Tuesday-At-Two 10th October (1400hrs) for the elderly residents of Farnborough West. Cove School Student Fair 17th October: Police will be about to answer questions, give out leaflets and information and give the students an opportunity to have their say on any concerns growing up in and around Farnborough. 1. To increase patrols in and around Brookhouse Road and Cody Road to tackle and reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) and criminal damage. Local concerns relate to the volume of young persons putting themselves at risk (ie by climbing and messing around on roofs and sheds) and also to reducing criminal damage in the area. We have seen an increase in activity around Montgomery Road flats where youths have been congregating, being rowdy and causing damage. 2. We have noticed a decrease in issues and community concern during our patrols in and around Broomhill Road. We are however still continuing to monitor the situation and would encourage the reporting of any emerging issues. 3. There have been no complaints this month regarding Southwood Crescent Business Park. 4. Speedwatch update.

ALDERSHOT NORTH (Wellington & Rowhill Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Natasha Farr PC Daniel Eaves PCSO Marie Park PCSO Dominic Godbold PCSO Durga Thapa PCSO Heidi Nielsen In August 2017, the town centre had been introduced to Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to reduce Anti- Social Behaviour (ASB) in the town. Possibly due to the change in the weather or the PSPO there has been a reduction in the reports relating to this issue. As per the Community Beat priorities, the Police are working towards combating the problems in the different areas, such as with the help of Safer North Hampshire in the setting up of two CCTV cameras in Municipal Gardens. We are still continuing to monitor ASB in the town and explore any differences we could make by working together with the multi-agencies. We also advise anybody who wishes to assist the homelessness within the town centre to donate to either the Vine Centre or Step By Step and not directly to the homeless people. Since daylight hours are getting shorter, residents are advised to ensure all property is left secure overnight and when not at home. We have had a reduction of purse thefts in the town centre and would like to keep it this way. We are exploring additional crime prevention options and purse attachments are available from the police station. We also have these available at most of our events. 1. ASB Galleries Multi Storey Car Park 2. ASB West End Park, Municipal Gardens 3. ASB Aldershot Town Centre Speedwatch Upcoming Events: Diwali, FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Thursday 19th October Crime prevention advice to GURKHA VETERANS Wednesday 4th October between at the Mormon, Latter Day Saints Church, St. Georges Road, Aldershot, GU12 4LJ

ALDERSHOT SOUTH (Aldershot Park, Northtown, & Manor Wards) Your SNT team are: PC Karen East PC Sarah Hill PC Simeon PCSO Phil Poulton Pitkin PCSO Kathryn Blanchard PCSO Ethan Worsell No update received for this month.
