A stolen BMW from Shilton has been recovered from a premise in Willoughby. Traffic Offence Reports for October During the month of October 3 TOR s (Traffic Offence Reports) have been completed for dangerous parking or causing an unnecessary obstruction around The Rugby Free School, on Central Park Drive. These offences are followed up with 30:00 fines. Seven TOR s have been issued for bad parking on the Coton Park Estate, Rugby. Two vehicles have been seized for being notified off road, but parked on the public highway. One was on the Eden Park Estate and one on the Coton Park Estate. As a police force, we will deal with parking issues that cover: Obstruction, this may include pavement parking Dangerous parking, this may include pavement parking Bends Brows of hills Dropped kerb access (as well as the council) One way traffic Box junctions Access only (unless access to premises is required) White hatched areas Action Fraud Alerts Cyber criminals send victims their own passwords in extortion scam Cyber criminals are attempting to blackmail unsuspecting victims by claiming to have used the victims' password to install spying malware on the victims' computer. The criminals claim they ve recorded videos of the victim watching adult material by activating their webcam when they visit these websites. What makes this scam so convincing is that the usually includes a genuine password the victim has used for one of their online accounts. We believe criminals obtain the passwords from data breaches. What to do if you get one of these s? Don t reply to the , or be pressured into paying. The police advise that you do not pay criminals. Try flagging the as spam/junk if you receive it multiple times. Perform a password reset as soon as possible on any accounts where you ve used the password mentioned in the . Always use a strong, separate password for important accounts, such as your . Where available, enable two-factor authentication (2FA). Always install the latest software and app updates. Install, or enable, anti-virus software on your laptops and computers and keep it updated.

7 If you receive one of these s, report it to Action Fraud s phishing reporting tool. If you have received one of these s and paid the ransom, report it to your local police force. Clifton Community Speed Watch Group A new Community Speed Watch group has been set up in Clifton upon Dunsmore. The scheme is being supported by the Safer Roads Partnership team within Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police, but will be managed and run by volunteers in the village. We did have a group set up in Clifton a few years ago, but the new team have had refresher training and been out on the roads already. What is Community Speed Watch? Community Speed Watch schemes involve trained volunteers from the community monitoring the speeds of vehicles with approved, hand-held speed measurement devices. Where vehicle speeds are found to be inappropriate, a letter is sent to the registered keeper by the police with the aim of encouraging them to reduce their speed when driving in the future. The aim of the scheme is not to catch as many speeding drivers as possible, but to encourage them to drive within the speed limit. Feedback from the community suggests that motorists visibly slow down when they see high-visibility jackets by the roadside, which is a positive effect in itself.

8 A Community Speed Watch scheme is initiated when 'speeding traffic' has been identified as a community road safety concern by a parish council, safer neighbourhood team or community forum. However, a number of criteria must be met before a scheme can be established: The area must have a 30mph or 40mph speed restriction. No other enforcement activity is currently in place. There must be at least six volunteers in each Community Speed Watch scheme. Speed checks must be conducted by at least three volunteers at any one time. If you are interested in setting up a group, contact PCSO 6152 Sharon Bailie-Crabtree and we can discuss the next steps, tel
