The 50th anniversary of the Encyclical Humanae Vitae of Pope Paul VI, which was promulgated on July 25, 1968, and which deals with the doctrine of the Church on the regulation of births, as well as different aspects of conjugal love, such as respect for the "nature and purpose of the marriage act". In conjugal love we speak of total love that is procreative and fruitful and is thus by the very nature of a love that is generous and that lives a reality of donation. Therefore the love of conjugal donation entails the necessary aspect of procreation, of paternity, but not a selfish paternity, subject to man's own will, as if he were the only one participating in the act of procreation; In responsible fatherhood, man shares in the creative gift of God, "safeguarding both essential aspects, unitive and procreative, the conjugal act preserves intact the sense of mutual and true love and its ordination to the highest vocation of man to fatherhood" (CIC 2369, HV 12), and therefore the dimension of responsible fatherhood must be subject to some points of which we will break down here. 1º. The knowledge and respect of the biological processes of procreation, this refers to discover with the intelligence the biological laws that are part of the person and that are ordered to give life. Therefore the spouses should strive to know their intimate nature since the sexual act has a meaning of reciprocal and total donation of two beings, male and female, and this is independent of the fact that they consider it or not to be, or can be a fecund act 2º. The domain of intelligence and will over the passions and instinct tendencies in what has to do with sexual life. Expanding, means acquiring the moral virtues of chastity and selfcontrol among others. 3º. Only in the last place, the decision regarding the number of children, that is, a decision responsible for birth control, is indicated as implicit in responsible parenthood. It can be, above all, a well-considered and generous decision to have a large family; since there is nothing more absurd and contrary to responsible fatherhood than the idea of limiting the births of children to a minimum number. Already John Paul II explained that the conception of responsible fatherhood is not only related to avoiding new births, but to make the family grow according to the criteria of prudence. Thus the Encyclical Humanae Vitae makes us a presentation of responsible fatherhood as a high ethical value. However, it also addresses the decision to avoid a new birth, either temporarily or indefinitely, for this states that such decisions must be taken into account under certain criteria studied in conscience and in the face of God: "In relation to physical conditions, economic, psychological and social, responsible parenthood is put into practice either with the deliberate and generous deliberation of having a large family either with the decision, taken for serious reasons and in the respect of the moral law, to avoid a new birth for some time or indefinitely. " (HV 10). And where the Church foresees grave conditions to be able to decide face to the Creator the number of children that each family will form, they and only they (the marriage) are the ones who can decide in generous dialogue how many children to have, and how often, the Church does not It tells some couples that there are so many children to have and others who have so many less, what explains widely is that conjugal love has a unitive character and donations by itself, and it is morally right to regulate fertility that seeks the good of the people and his dignity.

4 Page 4 XVII Sunday of Ordinary Time July 29, Aniversario de la Encíclica Humanae Vitae del Papa Pablo VI. Se cumplen el 50 aniversario de la Encíclica Humanae Vitae del Papa Pablo VI, que fue promulgada el 25 de julio de 1968 y que trata acerca de la doctrina de la Iglesia sobre la regulación de la natalidad, así como diferentes aspectos del amor conyugal, como el respeto de la naturaleza y de la finalidad del acto matrimonial. En el amor conyugal hablamos del amor total que es procreativo y fecundo y es así por la propia naturaleza de un amor que es de suyo generoso y que vive una realidad de donación. Por tanto el amor de donación conyugal conlleva en aspecto necesario de procreación, de paternidad, pero no una paternidad egoísta, sujeta al propio arbitrio del hombre, como si este fuese el único que participara en el acto de la procreación; en la paternidad responsable el hombre coparticipa del don creador de Dios, salvaguardando ambos aspectos esenciales, unitivo y procreador, el acto conyugal conserva íntegro el sentido de amor mutuo y verdadero y su ordenación a la altísima vocación del hombre a la paternidad (CIC 2369, HV 12), y por tanto la dimensión de la paternidad responsable debe estar sujeta a algunos puntos de los cuales desglosaremos aquí. 1º. El conocimiento y respeto de los procesos biológicos de la procreación, esto se refiere a descubrir con la inteligencia las leyes biológicas que forman parte de la persona y que se ordenan a dar la vida. Por tanto los esposos deben esforzarse en conocer su íntima naturaleza ya que el acto sexual tiene un significado de donación recíproca y total de dos seres, varón y mujer, y esto es independiente del hecho de que los mismos consideren o no que es, o puede ser un acto fecundo. 2º. El dominio de la inteligencia y de la voluntad sobre las pasiones y las tendencias del instinto en lo que tiene que ver con la vida sexual. Ampliando, significa adquirir las virtudes morales de la castidad y el dominio de si entre otras. 3º. Solo en el último lugar, se señala como implícito de la paternidad responsable la decisión respecto al número de hijos, es decir, una decisión responsable de la regulación de la natalidad. Puede tratarse, ante todo, de una decisión bien ponderada y generosa de tener una familia numerosa; puesto que no hay nada más absurdo y contrario de la paternidad responsable que la idea de limitar los nacimientos de los hijos a un número mínimo. Ya Juan Pablo II explicaba que la concepción de la paternidad responsable no está únicamente relacionada con el evitar nuevos nacimientos, sino, hacer crecer la familia según los criterios de la prudencia. Así la Encíclica Humanae Vitae nos hace una presentación de la paternidad responsable como un alto valor ético. Sin embargo aborda también la decisión de evitar un nuevo nacimiento, ya sea temporalmente o por tiempo indefinido, para esto establece que dichas decisiones deben ser tomadas en cuenta bajo ciertos criterios estudiados en conciencia y de cara a Dios: En relación con las condiciones físicas, económicas, psicológicas y sociales, la paternidad responsable se pone en práctica ya sea con la deliberación ponderada y generosa de tener una familia numerosa ya sea con la decisión, tomada por graves motivos y en el respeto de la ley moral, de evitar un nuevo nacimiento durante algún tiempo o por tiempo indefinido. (HV 10). La decisión ponderada y generosa deber ser, como explicaba el Papa Juan Pablo II: Bajo esta luz, desde la cual es necesario examinar y decidir la cuestión de la paternidad responsable, queda siempre como central el orden moral objetivo, establecido por Dios, cuyo fiel intérprete es la recta conciencia (La paternidad y la maternidad responsables a la luz de la Gaudium et spes y de la Humanae vitae Por tanto es evidente que la paternidad responsable no habla de una limitada visión de la relación conyugal, la unión y procreación de la vida o de una toma de decisión que correspondería solamente a los esposos, es en realidad una visión antropológica del ser humano, una visión más allá del quehacer cotidiano, que no se limita al tener menos hijos para darles mas; el crecimiento normal de una familia abierta a la vida supone de si un enriquecimiento pues se genera de un acto fecundo donde el Dios creador participa. Y donde la Iglesia prevé condiciones graves para poder decidir cara al Creador el número de hijos que conformará cada familia, ellos y solo ellos (el matrimonio) son los que pueden decidir en diálogo generoso cuántos hijos tener, y cada cuanto tiempo, la Iglesia no dice a unos matrimonio que tantos hijos tener y a otros que tantos menos tener, lo que explica ampliamente es que el amor conyugal tiene un carácter unitivo y por suyo de donación, y es moralmente recto una regulación de la fertilidad que busca el bien de las personas y a su dignidad.
