2 Teen Camp Iwannago (Ages 11-14) Camp Iwannago is held right at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA. We use the Youth Center, just off of the Miron Gym, as our home base. Activities will be geared to build character, instill Christian values, and to teach respect and healthy living. It is or goal to help our campers develop self-esteem, a strong work ethic and the willingness to maintain a positive attitude. Our Teen Camp begins at 8:00 AM each day and ends at 4:00 PM. Campers must provide their own lunch or they can purchase lunch from our Riverside Café on non-field trip days. Extended care is offered in the morning at 7:00 AM and at the end of the camp day until 5:30 PM. A typical camp week will include sports and gym activities, swimming at the Y, working out at the Y, walking to the Neenah Public Library and nearby city parks and helping with some community service or Y projects. Each week we will also have a field trip to local attractions in the Fox Valley area. A minimum of two days attendance per week is required. Camp Tonkaweya (Ages 7-11) State Licensed Day Camp Each week, the different groups at Camp Tonkaweya, located in Neenah s Memorial Park, follow a schedule that is planned by camp staff to ensure that the campers have an exciting camp experience! Each day begins in our beautiful Song Circle with a variety of songs and stories led by our trained camp counselors. After everyone is energized and motivated, we move into our morning activities described under Traditional Camp and Sports & Specialty Camps below. After morning activities and lunch, the different groups participate in more fun activities and often go swimming at the Neenah High School Pool. Once a week the entire camp goes on a special Field Trip in the community and also has a cookout on Fridays. At the end of the day we meet once again in Song Circle to recognize our Camper of the Day and perform our Closing Bead Ceremony based on the four Core Vales of the Y which are Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Each Camp Tonkaweya day (8:00 AM 4:00 PM) is unique and action-packed! Extended care is offered in the morning at 7:00 AM and at the end of the camp day until 5:30 PM. Tonkaweya Traditional Camp Camp Tonkaweya Traditional Camps offer a variety of outdoor activities such as group games, sports, arts and crafts, archery, and teambuilding activities in a safe and inclusive environment. After lunch traditional camp is joined by sports and specialty camps for large group activities and swimming. 3 Camp Tonkaweya: Sports & Specialty Camps Camp Tonkaweya Sports & Specialty Camps help children develop specific skills and techniques in a sport or activity. Each camp includes activities in the morning in the specific sport or specialty area while the afternoon is spent in traditional camp activities. The focus is on activities that help campers become familiar with the activity, improve skills, and make new friends in a safe, non-competitive atmosphere. Week 3: June Sports Of All Sorts (Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Flag Football) Fishing-Please bring your own fishing pole and tackle. Live bait will be provided. Passport-Craft projects, games, cooking, and other treats from around the world. Week 4: June 30- July 3 N/A N/A (No Camp July 4) Week 5: July 7-11 Baseball Soccer Outdoor Wilderness Camp (OWC)-Learn outdoor living and nature skills and spend Thursday night camping at High Cliff (Weather permitted). Week 6: July Aquatics Dodgeball & Floor Hockey Model Rocket-Build and launch your very own rocket. Week 7: July OLYMPICSWEEK Lacrosse Lawn Games (Bag Toss, Bocce Ball, Croquet, Disc Golf) Cheerleading & Gymnastics-Held at the Heart of the Valley YMCA Gymnastics Center. Week 8: July 28-Aug 1 Volleyball Fishing-Please bring your own fishing pole and tackle. Live bait will be provided. Kids Fit-Learn healthy lifestyles and use of the Fit Zone area at the Y in a fun active environment. Week 9: August 4-8 Basketball Craft Projects-Make a new craft project to take home each day. Outdoor Wilderness (OWC)-Learn outdoor living and nature skills and spend Thursday night camping at High Cliff (Weather permitted). Week 10: August CAMP T POTLUCK Flag Football Golf Drama-Plan an original camp skit and perform it at the annual Camp T Potluck on Thursday evening. Week 11: August Track & Field Unique Sports (Pickleball, Walleyball, Hip Hop Musical-Come to learn both hip hop and High School Musical type dances. Badminton and Bowling) Week 12: August N/A N/A Adventure Camp (Ages 5-6) Adventure Day Camp is a fun and exciting introductory day camp experience for boys and girls ages 5-6. There will be lots of safe and healthy activities geared toward their developmental level. Quality leadership provides your child with the caring and understanding necessary to develop a happy and welladjusted child. Typical activities include weekly themes that feature arts and crafts, small and large group games, stories and songs, fitness, sports and swimming. Weekly field trips, typically on Wednesdays are included in the cost. Have your child be a part of the magic that Adventure Camp offers! Age of Campers: Boys and Girls ages 5 6. YMCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: No person will be denied the benefits of YMCA Camp or Programs due to financial limitation. Financial scholarships are available and are confidential. Participants receiving assistance through Social Services are required to pay registration fees and must show verification of approval from Human Services prior to enrolling in the program. State or county aid is only available for the state licensed Adventure Camp and Camp Tonkaweya. $25 OFF YMCA CAMP NAN A BO SHO YMCA Camp Nan A Bo Sho is the overnight camp owned and operated by the YMCA of the Fox Cities. It is located in Lakewood, WI on Waubee Lake (about 90 miles north of the Fox Cities) and serves children/youth ages 6-16 and families. Spend a week meeting new friends, trying new things and having FUN! Activities include archery, arts and crafts, swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, adventure course activities, canoe trips, fishing, nature studies, rowing, hiking, riflery, campfires, paddle boats, funyaks, and disc golf. I grant permission for my child to participate in all scheduled camp activities including bus transportation and possibly walking to and from camp for special activities/events. 2. I understand that I must drop off/pick up my child at camp each day and check-out with the camp staff at the end of each camp day and that I must register my child for at least 2 camp days per week unless I have prior approval from the camp director. 3. I give permission to use any pictures taken of my child during participation at camp for Y promotional purposes. This photograph may be placed on the Y s Internet Web Page, brochure, or flyers to promote information about Y programs. 4. I understand the camp fees do not include health and accident insurance, and I will be responsible for any and all charges incurred for prompt medical treatment. 5. I understand that each camper and parent must cooperate and accept camp rules and guidelines. Inappropriate behavior may involve disciplinary action by the camp director and/or dismissal from camp. If a camper is dismissed for inappropriate behavior camp fees are nonrefundable. 6. I agree to pay in full the balance of camp fees on the Friday prior to the week of camp unless I cancel in accordance with the cancellation policy (see below). I also agree to pay a $10 fee for each week of late camp payments. A non-refundable registration fee of $30/child or $50/family must be paid at the time of camp registration. I will read and understand the camp policies and procedures as explained in the Camp Handbook received after registering for camp. I also understand that I must complete and return all medical and other forms from the Camp Packet by May 6, I understand that parents arriving after 5:30 PM to pick up their child will incur a late charge of $10 for each 15 minutes late. 9. I understand that due to fixed staff and program costs, there will be no refunds or credits given for absences due to inclement weather or illness. 10. I understand that children with special physical or emotional needs will be accepted if the program is determined to be in the child s best interests and/or if the child does not require an inordinate amount of staff time that would take away from the other children s care.
