2 GENERAL OVERVIEW The Hatboro Area YMCA Summer Camp program is a safe place for kids of all ages to grow and develop a sense of independence, and learn what it means to be part of a team. Under the leadership of trained camp counselors, group activities like swimming, creative arts, science, camp songs, sports, special events and field trips give kids the confidence to make new friends and create memories that last a lifetime. York Road Hatboro, PA Campers must be dropped off and picked up at the Hatboro Area Y location. *All camp locations are subject to change. CAMP DIRECTOR Nicole Flynn , ext SUMMER CAMP HOURS Monday Friday 9:00 AM 4:00 PM All Campers must be present by 9:00 AM unless approved by the Camp Director. EXTENDED CAMP CARE Staffed by our Camp Directors and Counselors, your children will have positive role models to interact with on a daily basis. We provide a variety of games and sports in an indoor or outdoor setting. Ages: 6-16 Sessions: 1-12 Before Care Hours 7 AM 9 AM After Care Hours 4 PM 6 PM BEFORE AND AFTER CARE COST IS INCLUDED IN CAMP FEE. Children who are signed out after 6:00 PM will incur a late fee of $1 per minute per child past 6:05 PM that they are in our care. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES 1 Registration for camp begins Monday, January 30, Camp registration can be taken at the Hatboro Area Y Welcome Center: Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Saturday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM 2 3 All campers must have a current Y membership; otherwise a Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA Full Privilege or Youth Program Membership must be purchased. Registration closes two weeks before each camp week begins. Please be sure to register in advance, as our sessions fill up quickly. Registration requires a non-refundable $25 per week deposit. Deposits are applied to camp fees. Registration weeks are transferable until June 5, HATBORO AREA YMCA (215) ACA ACCREDITED This Y Camp is accredited with the American Camping Association and compliant with over 3,000 aspects of camp administration, quality and the health and safety of campers and staff. NO PLACE FOR HATE FACILITY This Y is a designated No Place For Hate facility after completing a year of antibias and anti-bullying programs.

Arts and crafts, songs, and games are centered around weekly themes to engage curious preschoolers. Swimming and outside play are a highlight of summer camp for this age group. All campers must be toilet-trained. Full Privilege: $240/wk. Program: $270/wk. Extended care is not available. PIONEERS AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-11 Camp Pioneers focuses on a traditional Summer Camp experience for children in grades 1 2. Campers learn how to create new friendships and explore the natural world around them. Camp activities like art, music, nature, swimming and sports are designed to build confidence, new skills, and untapped talent. Themes, field trips and special events make it a different adventure every week. Full Privilege: $240/wk. Program: $270/wk. Outdoor Recreational Center EXPLORERS AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-11 Camp Explorers focuses on a traditional Summer Camp experience for children in grades 3 4. Campers become more self-reliant and will explore new interests with activities like art, music, nature, swimming and sports. Outdoor Recreational Center PATHFINDERS AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-11 Camp Pathfinders gives kids in grades 5 6 a traditional camp experience with an emphasis on independence, and learning the importance of team building and leadership skills. Campers will enjoy fun-filled activities such as art, music, nature, swimming and sports designed to build confidence and encourage exploration into new areas. 6 SPECIALTY CAMPS ARCHERY CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2 Learn the proper and safe skills of the sport from our qualified YMCA counselors. Practice target shooting and show your mastery of concentration, coordination and cooperation. Campers will shoot in small groups. Traditional day camp activities will be included as part of their day. This camp also includes two days of instructional and one day of recreational swim. Campers will be introduced to several areas of art, including drawing, painting, sculpting, and mosaics. 7 BRAIN BUSTER & SCIENCE CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 3, 8 Explore the world of science with the Y. If you like problem solving, creativity, and science experiments, this camp is for you. Experience how exciting thinking outside of the box can be. day of recreational swim YEARS CAKE DESIGN CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 5, 7 If your child is a dessert fanatic, then this camp is perfect for them. Each camper will learn different ways to make and decorate their favorite cakes, cupcakes and desserts. This Hatboro Area Y camp will teach campers how to make any party complete through decorating with different types of icing and art designs. day of recreational swim. Campers will meet at the Hatboro Y YEARS NEW CHEERLEADING CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 4 Calling all young cheerleaders! In this camp we will be tumbling, dancing, cheering and chanting. This group will put on a performance for our other campers at the end of the week. day of recreational swim. 6-9 YEARS CSI CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 6 This exciting camp is based on the hit TV series CSI. Children will reconstruct a crime scene, compile and investigate evidence, interrogate witnesses, and solve the crime. This camp will incorporate science, math and writing and helps develop their communication skills. This camp includes instructional and recreational swimming. Space is limited. NEW 8-12 YEARS DANCE CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 7 Jumps, kicks and turns will start out each camper s day! Campers will be introduced to the various styles of dance. 8 FISHING & HIKING CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 5, 9 Get your tackle box, fishing rod and reel together - we re going fishing! Campers will learn casting, pole lining, baiting and fish retrieval and release. Fishing will be done at local parks and fishing holes. Campers need to bring their own fishing pole. Bait, hooks, line, and bobbers will be provided. Campers will also spend time hiking through local parks. recreational swim. NEW 9-13 YEARS FITNESS FRENZY CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 8 This exciting camp will have our campers moving all day long. The campers will use our wellness center, take group exercise classes, swim, hike, daily workouts and much more! YEARS FUN WEEK AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 1, 12 This FUN WEEK is the perfect way to start and end your 2017 camp experience! We have games, crafts, swim time, arts and crafts, and more! FUTURE BROADWAY STARS CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 8 Get ready for a week of singing and dancing. Campers will perform a show for our other campers at the end of each week. recreational swim. 6-9 YEARS GYMNASTICS CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-12 Girls and boys will train under the supervision of certified gymnastics staff in the state-of-the-art YMCA Gymnastics Center. All pieces of apparatus are available for girl s and boy s gymnastics, including a full spring floor, balance beams, rings, bars, vault and more. Campers will train by age and ability level. 9 HALF DAY GYMNASTICS CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-12 This half-day camp provides children ages 6-9 to partake in our gymnastics camp program for a half day. Campers with all levels of gymnastics experience are welcome in this camp. Our certified gymnastics staff will instruct campers on all equipment. All campers must be toilet-trained. 6-9 YEARS Half Day: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Full Privilege: $105/wk. Program: $130/wk. GYMNASTICS CAMP PRESCHOOL AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 2-12 This half-day camp focuses on building gymnastics skills, movement, music and art. Children ages 3-5 develop their creativity with stimulating activities and experiences that make their day enjoyable. 3-5 YEARS Half Day: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Full Privilege: $105/wk. Program: $130/wk. MASTER CHEF CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 4, 6, 8 What could be more fun than spending a day cooking with friends? This camp is designed to enhance cooking techniques and provide kitchen safety tips. Campers will create new masterpieces in the kitchen each week, and end their session as a culinary expert! This camp typically includes three days of instructional and recreational swim. Campers will meet at the Hatboro Y YEARS NATURE & PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 9 This camp will combine the educational aspect of nature with photography. Campers will have the opportunity to create projects and become master photographers. recreational swim. 11 NEW TEEN THEATER CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 7, 8 This two-week camp is for teens with an interest in theater. The group will learn about staging and improvising, creating their own scenery and costume design. Participants will give a performance at the end of week two. Must enroll in both sessions. day of recreational swimming YEARS THEATER CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 5, 6, 9, 10 Calling all future actors and actresses! In Theater Camp campers will learn about staging and improvising, creating their own scenery, using their imagination with costumes and more. Campers will perform in a production at the end of the second week. Parents are encouraged to attend. recreational swim. This is a recommended two week session, however one week participation is accepted YEARS TRIP ADVENTURE CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 12 The great outdoors are calling all Y campers. The Y s Adventure Camp provides a week of trips to experience different camping activities such as rock climbing, tubing on the Delaware River, hiking, and much more. This camp will include swim time as the trip schedule allows. Camp hours may vary based on trip destinations. Camp will be held rain or shine. Space is limited YEARS Full Privilege: $345/wk. Program: $400/wk. TRIP CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 11 Get ready to see and explore with the Y. This camp includes a week of trips to a variety of places such as Amusement Parks, Laser Tag and the Family Fun Centers. Each day, campers will enjoy new, exciting adventures in the company of friends. This camp will include swim time as the trip schedule allows. Camp hours may vary based on trip destinations. 12 SPORTS CAMPS Specialty Sports Camps include low ropes course, sand volleyball, archery, and recreational and instructional swimming. SPORTS CAMP AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 3-11 Campers will learn the rules and enhance their skills in a variety of traditional sports such as flag football, soccer, and baseball, as well as, non-traditional sports including kickball and capture the flag. Each week, campers will engage in a particular sport and participate in specific drills and friendly competition. Participants also attend field trips and special events. This camp includes three days of instructional swimming and if schedule allows, one or two days of recreational swimming YEARS Full Privilege: $240/wk. Program: $270/wk. Outdoor Recreational Center SPORTS CAMP JUNIOR AVAILABLE SESSIONS: 3-11 For the younger sports enthusiasts, campers will learn the basic rules of a variety of team sports in a non-competitive atmosphere. 14 GENERAL POLICIES AGE PLACEMENT Campers will be placed in their camp groups based on their age at the time of registration by the parent. We do not guarantee changes or transfers of children based on a birthday that occurs during our Summer Camp operational dates. Parents with children that have birthday s falling within our camp program weeks will need to contact the Camp Directors to inform them of this type of request. The Camp Directors will try to accommodate changes based on their discretion and the camper s ability to adjust to the new camp age group. SIBLING DISCOUNT A $5 sibling discount will be applied for second and subsequent children enrolled during the same week. May not be combined with any other discount. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The Y is accessible to all individuals regardless of age, income or background. The Hatboro Area YMCA counts on the generosity of our members and donors to keep our doors open to whoever needs a place to go to help them be more healthy, confident and connected to our community. Financial Assistance can be used for any Y program or membership. If you need help with payment of any portion of Summer Camp fees, please contact the Welcome Center to request a Financial Assistance application. Financial Assistance is awarded on a first come first serve basis. All applications must be submitted by Monday, May 29, PARENT HANDBOOK Upon receipt of a completed enrollment form and payment of registration and membership fees, parents will receive a Parent Information Handbook. The handbook contains details about YMCA Summer Camp policies and procedures. Parents must sign and return the Receipt of Parents Handbook form located in the back of the handbook. REFUND/CREDIT POLICY There are no refunds for deposits. Camp cancellations submitted in writing will be issued a refund less that deposit if the request is received prior to June 1, After June 1, 2017 refunds will be issued in the form of credit towards any YMCA program. No credit will be granted for a cancellation requested less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp session. SUPERVISION 1:1 The Hatboro Area YMCA is not able to provide 1:1 supervision of any child in our branch programs. If your child requires 1:1 supervision it will be the parent s responsibility to inform the YMCA and provide that service for their child. TSS POLICY Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) are permitted to accompany children in our YMCA Summer Camp, Child Care and School-Age programs at the Hatboro Area Y. For more information, please contact the camp director. ADA COMPLIANCE Individuals with disabilities may request a workplace accommodation, a modification to a program, policy or practice, or auxiliary aids or services by contacting a Branch ADA Compliance Officer or the Association Office ADA Compliance Officer. Individuals with disabilities also have the option of contacting the Branch Program Director in person or by calling the YMCA branch s main telephone number and asking for the Program Director.
