1 2016 YMCA CAMP OF MAINE STAFF APPLICATION Thank you for your interest in working with YMCA Camp of Maine this coming summer. There are over 60 staff members hired every summer. Counselors, Directors, and Staff Members play an integral role in making every summer a success. YMCA Camp of Maine is a place or character and leadership development where selfconfidence, friendships, and life lessons are fostered. Activities take place on the water, on the sports fields, in the woods, in cabins and on the trails that connect them all. Camp staff and campers come from Maine, other New England states, Canada, and abroad. This diversity adds new programs and a broader understandings of the world. Everyone who comes to camp has significant value and has the great responsibility of growing while helping others grow. The Staff Application needs to be completed and returned as soon as possible. Three references are required. Two references need to be professional (teachers, coaches, supervisors, mentors) who can attest to your work ethic, responsibility, and honesty. Once reference must be personal (parent, aunt, uncle, grandparents) who can attest to your personal convictions. After all of your information has been returned to the office, an interview will be schedule in person or by telephone. Basic Guidelines and Information for Application: o YMCA Camp summer contract season is from June 19, 2016 August 13, 2016 o Minimum age for a Senior Cabin and Activity Leader is 18 as of June 1, 2016 o Minimum age for a Junior Cabin and Activity Leader is 17 as of June 1, 2016 o All positions require camp staff to live on property, unless authorized by the Director.
