1 Updated News Release Active Missing Persons List Reduced to Three People The Sheriff s Office is pleased to announce that 53-year-old John Jack Keating has been located safely in Ventura with his dog Tiny and is no longer on our active Keating is a transient and turns out was in Carpinteria and not Montecito during the storm. Sheriff s detectives are following up on all missing person reports that have come in since the incident began. They have had more than one hundred reports to investigate. At this time, there are three active missing persons cases. The list decreased from five to four cases
2 after 30-year-old Pinit Sutthithepa nicknamed Oom was located deceased at 3:45 p.m. yesterday, January 13, in the area of Hot Springs Road near Olive Mill Road during search and recovery efforts. The current list of active missing person cases includes: John Jack Keating - 53 years old Sheriff s detectives are actively investigating these missing persons cases. To report a missing person or report or receive any information regarding this incident please call the information line at Search Continues for Five Missing Persons Related to the Flood Incident in Montecito Montecito As of 8:00 p.m. on January 13, 2018 there are five active missing persons cases related to the January 9, 2018 flood incident in Montecito. The list decreased from seven people to five today following the discovery of 25-year-old Morgan Corey who was found deceased during search and recovery efforts. 62-year old Delbert Weltzin was located safely. The current list of active missing person cases includes: Pinit Sutthithepa - 30 years old John Jack Keating - 53 years old Sheriff s detectives are actively working on locating persons reported to the Emergency Operations Center and Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center. The list of open active missing persons cases often fluctuates as new information is obtained. Missing persons related to the storm and subsequent flooding and mudslides can be reported to the Emergency Operations Center at and please be prepared to provide as much detail as possible to the call takers.
3 ### Sheriff s Office Searching for Missing Flood Victims Santa Barbara The Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office is asking for the community s help in locating several missing persons related to the January 9, 2018 storm incident. The following missing persons were reported by family and friends, and resided in areas that were heavily damaged during the storm and subsequent mudslides. Although search efforts are underway, Sheriff s detectives are actively working on locating persons reported to the Emergency Operations Center and Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center. While this list often fluctuates as new information is obtained, here is a current list of people reported missing that are considered active investigations. Morgan Christine Corey - 25 years old Pinit Sutthithepa - 30 years old Delbert Weltzin - 62 year old transient who often frequents the railroad tracks near Olive Mill. John Jack Keating - 53 year old transient who often frequents the Montecito riverbed area. The public is asked to report any information they may have on the whereabouts of the above missing persons. The community is also reminded to report all missing persons to the Emergency Operations Center at and please be prepared to provide as much detail as possible to the call takers.
