1 Mopars of Brevard, Inc. FROM THE PRESIDENT S Driveway Now that February is in the can, I m looking forward to the month of March and the car shows of Spring. March is always loaded with them. Penny and I will attend Bike Week; we camp out at the Silver Sands Riding Arena (N. Smyrna Bch) every year. Stop by for a visit and a cold drink. It s an easy place to find, being on Tomoka Farms Road, next door to the Cabbage Patch Saloon. This weekend the Alzheimer s raffle car will be at the Seafood Super Bee Lines ~ March, 2017 MOB website: Mail address: POBox , Melbourne, FL Webmaster: Andy Caldwell President Bob Anderson (321) Board of Directors Pete Stasio Vice President James Auchter (321) Board of Directors Ray Moyer Secretary Jon Warner (321) Board of Directors Frank Parravani Treasurer Sharon Bukowski (321) Newsletter Editor Penny Anderson Mbership Dir Open Sunshine Girl Penny Anderson Historian Volunteer Needed (xxx) xxx-xxxx Public Relations Open Sgt.-At-Arm Ed Baranowski (321) Festival in Grant, Florida. Penny and I are planning to attend the AACA show at the Wickham Pavilion on Saturday, 04 March. Check the events section of this Newsletter for other car show opportunities this month. I will support as many of them as I can. The MOB s spring picnic is scheduled for 02 April, 2017 at Fisherman s Landing in Grant Florida. We can start as early in the morning as we wish and I would like to plan for lunch to begin at 1:00 PM. That should give our church attending MOBsters enough time to arrive after church and before lunch. This will be a dish to pass event so please attend the March club meeting so that we can coordinate who is bringing what. The dish to pass activity is one of my personal favorites. There are always tons of good food items to sample. As usual, the club will supply the setups, condiments, meats, and cold Page 1 of 9 drinks. If anyone has a game that they enjoy, please bring it. All club members are invited as are their families and very close friends, however, please let me know who is coming and how many, so that I can purchase enough food for everyone. Thanks Penny. You are doing a great job as our new Newsletter Editor. Please assist her by sending articles for future NLs. We had a great cruise-in in February. Thanks Pete for making this event possible. Penny, Jon Warner, Pete Stasio and myself attended the FMA meeting in February. The November Mopars with Big Daddy has a new location, less than 2 miles from the Museum. We have volunteered to support the registration activity. This years show will be held on Nov. 11 th & 12 th. Drive Safe, President Bob

The father replied. Well, son, you must have got it from your mother, cause I still have mine. Words Of Wisdom: By Penny Anderson When you make a commitment, you build hope. When you keep it, you build trust. A Good Recipe: By Penny Anderson Sausage Biscuit Bites 1 lb. hot sausage (pork or turkey) 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 2 pkgs. Crescent rolls Dash salt & ground black pepper In a sauté pan, brown sausage & drain. Add dash of salt & pepper. Blend in cream cheese until the cream cheese is melted. Unroll 1 pkg of crescent rolls and place on a baking sheet. With your fingers, gently press the seams together to seal them. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough, leaving about ½ inch border along edges. Unroll the remaining pkg of crescent rolls and place on top of the sausage mixture. Press the edges together to seal. Gently press seams together. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until crescent roll dough is golden brown. Cut into small squares and serve. The Mopars of Brevard were represented with Cheryl & Frank Parravani, Joe & Arlene Naulty, Bob & Althea Underwood, James & Ashlee Auchter, Ray Moyer and Katie & myself. The Best Classic Car Award went to Bob & Althea with their 1955 Oldsmobile Also Mopar owner, Joe Botti, received the Daily Driver Award with his 1971 Plymouth Sebring. Congratulation to all winners! Thanks Lance Smith for putting on a great show. $26 MILLION IN MUSCLE CARS By Ed Baranowski I m here to raise money for charities, was the message of Mark Pieloch, owner of the American Muscle Car Museum on Sarno Road in Melbourne. I visited with Mark and his wife at the Eau Gaullie Yacht Club on February 3 where he told his story about an addiction to cars. Collecting 240 cars worth $26 million started as a teenager in the Boston area. His stories about restoration, collecting, and sharing made a great story for benefiting others. The Museum is not currently open to the public. Mark has setup the Museum as a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization. He will host charitable fund raisers where 100% of the proceeds going to a specific charity. Mark recently paid for an Elvis impersonator to the tune of $7,500 to help attract donors at $150 per person at the Sharing Page 3 of 9

4 Center Event in the Museum. Each event has generated a lot of funds for a designated charity due to the novelty and curiosity of the Muscle Cars Museum. February Cruisin For Charity By Pete Stasio It was great weather for a cruise in with cooler temperatures late in the evening. The cars totaled 177. Fast Eddie was fantastic with the great oldies being enjoyed by all. Awards were won by the following: Five Guy s 1 st place Jim and Sylvia Arnold with a 1969 Oldsmobile convertible, 2 nd place to Jack and Ann Hampton with a 1934 Coupe. The Best Tire and Wheel Set-up went to Rich Lacompte with a 1931 Ford Model A Tudor. Lastly the 50/50 winner of $80 went to Gary Merrill. I would like to thank all MOB members for their support at the cruise. Without them, it just wouldn t be possible. Also Katie and I would like to thank the club for the appreciation plaques and the gracious gift certificate we received. We love the club. Thank You, Katie and Pete. CRUISING ON THE ROYAL CARIBBEAN OASIS OF THE SEAS WITH ROCKY & THE ROLLERS By Sharon Bukowski Roger & I had a blast on the Oasis of the Seas Cruise. We met some amazing artists that were very popular in the 60 s. They were Jay Siegel from The Tokens, Freddy Bom Bom Cannon, Johnny Tillotson, The Devells, The Crystals, Peggy March, Johnny Contardo, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, Gary Lewis and the Play Boys, Vito Pitone & the Elegants, Dennis Tufano, Bowser and The Sting Rays and Tommy Mara and the Crests. Our 1 st stop on the cruise was an Island owned by Royal Caribbean in Haiti. On Valentine s Day, Roger wanted me to go parasailing with him. Scared?? Sure but I did it. Wow! What a view from 300 ft. up. We attended a Prom, a Sock Hop and a Good Night Sweetheart Dance on the last night of the cruise. Page 4 of 9
