1 From The Driver s Seat Before I begin my message for this month I would be remiss if I did not give a special "Thank You" to our Oil Leak editor Tony Zeoli who is putting together and editing this months Oil Leak (May) while on a vacation cruise in South America. Boy is that going above and beyond the call of duty. Tony purchased a laptop computer so that he would be able to work on the Oil Leak from his cruise ship. While I'm on this subject, I'm sure you all have noticed the "Fantastic" job Tony has been doing to up grade and expand the Oil Leak each month (I can't believe that we now need table of contents). A popular saying in the Minuteman club over the years is the quote "What a "! This quote often comes to my mind when our members continue to voluntarily step up without being asked to assist in the running of our club. Being one who from my business sales experience has always been conscious of being on time for appointments, Nicky and I usually leave Newton for Sudbury around 6:00 PM for our monthly meetings. Expecting to open up the church and to begin organizing chair and table locations we have pulled into the church parking lot to witness all much of this work already begun by members of the club. This has occurred more than once. When we arrived for the April meeting Pat Martone, Ed & Joyce Croci, Len & Peg Michalak had already begun the setup and coffee (What a ). It's always fun to welcome new members at our meetings and we had this opportunity at our April meeting. A big welcome to Patrick Langan of Newton who is the proud owner of a 1929 Woody. It did take two of us to calm Dick O'Brien down but we could not control the big smile on Dick's face. Patrick's Woody was his father's and Patrick hopes to continue the family tradition of loving "old cars". Wayne Champagne presented the Model A Restorers awards for miles driven in a Model A. Mike Doyle received an award for driving 2,000 miles in his Coupe. Bruce Marshall received 2 awards, one for driving 5,000 miles in his Woody and 25,000 in his Coupe. Wayne Champagne award for 5,000 miles to his Fordor. John Roberson awarded for 10,000 miles driven in his Roadster Pickup, Dick O'Brien awarded for driving 50,000 miles in his Woody and last but not least Doug Linden award for driving his Fordor 75,000 miles. WOW! Congrats to all six Minuteman Model A Ford members. Tom Zappala reported on the tours completed in March and passed out the 2013 Tour Cards. He also reviewed with the members the tours taking place in April. Tom once again discussed our 50th Anniversary Party which will take place in September at the Collings Museum. Please or call us and let us know what you can do to help Tom and his 50th Committee. We will have eight (8) tours in the month of May. Check your Oil Leak or our Websites (Minuteman Model A Ford or Oilleak.org) for a list of the 2013 tours. By the time you are reading this issue we will have had our annual Winter Blahs Flea Market/Swap Meet (Thank you, Craig Martin). I was more than pleased to see that our new member Patrick Langan was one of the winners of the flea market raffle. Patrick is now a proud owner of a like new Model A horn. Also completed in April would have been our annual Minuteman Tour "Clinic" for the annual inspection of our Model "A's" (Thank you, Jack Stokinger and member "mechanics"). Refreshments for our April meeting were brought by Barbara McElhiney, Nicky Del Mastro, & Gary Hoyt. Of course, I hope the "coffee" lady knows how much she is appreciated. Joyce Croci not only makes the best coffee but she always has a big smile for everyone. The following members have volunteered to bring refreshments to our May 7th meeting. Pat Martone, Shirley Jacobson, Anna Gadbois, and Clyde Kelton. I'm happy to announce that we have locations for our "summer" meetings. We really appreciate Sally & Harold Legge (Natick) who will host our June meeting, JJ & Shirley Jacobson (Wayland) hosting the July meeting, and Jo Johnson & Jack Stokinger (Sudbury) will host our August meeting. Thank you, Vin 1

7 Minuteman Activity April 7, 2013 We had another great turn out of vendors and the antique car community at the swap meet on April 7th. Over 300 attendees passed along $3.00 in order to pour over all the hundreds of car parts, literature and gizmo's offered that day. Only one donut remained at he end of the morning and the raffle went well with several of our members taking home a prize. The total success of the day is due to the help from the following club members: Grace & Mike Doyle Barbara & Dick Obrien Rich Weintraub Nan & Doug Linden John Pierce George Day Len & Peg Michalak Jo Johnson Jack Stokenger Vin DelMastro Tom Zappala Bob Quebec John Kerns Rick Gadbois Dick Krug Clyde Kelton Gene Bunce Jim True Hope I did not forget anyone, See you next year!
