2 The Prez Sez I bet some of you have already made it out on the slopes this season as you read this. I hope that everyone has their skis and boards waxed and other gear ready to go. I had a fantastic time on the Elk Mountain day trip but I m still anxious to see some bigger terrain this season. I will get the opportunity for big mountain terrain soon at Squaw Valley. It always feels great getting those first few turns in for the season on fresh snow. I find visiting new mountains is always fun especially exploring the new terrain and the après-ski scene each mountain has to offer. Our trips are selling quite well, and we still have some space left on a few of them. If you haven t made up your mind yet don t hesitate and contract the trip leader to sign up for that next exciting trip. Our day trips have been available for quite a few weeks now. We have already been to Elk Mountain, but the Montage day trip is coming up and the beginning of March we will be going to Seven Springs Mountain Resort. If you would like to invite a friend on one of our day trips that s great because day trips are open to non-members too, so bring a friend to join in on some winter fun. Don t forget this month is the annual Jack Kalasky Memorial Auction. The club auction will be held the evening of Wednesday, February 13, 6:30 PM at the Heritage Hotel on Centerville Rd. There will be a special presentation around 7:15 before the auction begins. This is a big event for the club and we hope to have a great turn out. There should be many great and interesting items available for bid. You may even find something to surprise your sweetheart with on Valentine s Day! I hope to see everyone there and don t forget to bring your checkbook, this is sure to be an exciting event. Be sure to check our website, monthly flyers and blasts for news on upcoming happy hours, special events, next year's ski trips and other exciting activities. I hope to see you all soon, think snow!
