H 2016 was a great year packed with loads of Fun, Family, Friends and Old Fords. We ended 2016 with our Installation Brunch at the Wedgewood Banquet Center, Rohnert Park. We had a great turnout with just under 100 members attending. From what I could see and what I heard, everyone had a wonderful time. Bill & Gina Crackbon did an awesome job of putting everything together and from our point of view it all went seamlessly. The club thanks you two for all your help. The club is also very thankful for all of our existing officers and board members returning for That is a great thing for all of us since they are all doing such a wonderful job. Thank you everyone! 2 Page 2 From The President: appy New Year everyone (a little H late I guess). I hope everyone had a great holiday season and everyone is ready for a fresh new year of fun events. I don t know about you, but I am ready for some dry weather and sunshine. I know that we needed the rain and I am glad to hear that we won t be talking about the drought for a while, but I could use some sunshine. Speaking of sunshine, I will be getting some of that soon as Dave Simonds and I are making our yearly trek to Pomona at the end of January for the Grand National Roadster Show. I am looking forward to that, except for the drive down and back of course. I understand that Brandon Flaner will be taking down a couple of cars again this year, it will be fun to see him and see what he has been working on these past months (or longer). I also have been marking the vacation calendar at work for the great tours we have every year, unfortunately we will not be able to attend the Black Bart Tour this year as we only have a limited number of vacation days available, so we have to pick and choose wisely. After the Swap Meet, we get to go to Burney for Memorial Weekend. July we have the Skip Long Car Show plus we will going up North for the Fortuna Autoexpo, always one of our favorites. We are looking forward to attending this years Western National Meet in Salem Oregon in September, and of course Miranda in October. Plus there are all kinds of other car events throughout the area that will come up. Hopefully, someone will come up with a day tour or two this year to freshen thinks up. Hopefully we will not have another 100 year storm for the February club meeting like we did in January, I am looking forward to seeing every one s smiling faces, even though there isn t much going on yet, it s still fun to see everyone. Steve McClain Minutes of General Meeting Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 The Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President Steve McClain. The Pledge of Allegiance was observed Steve thanked all attending tonight. Attendance this evening was problematic for many members affected by heavy rain and flooding. Minutes of Meeting: Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 were approved as reported. Members in attendance tonight: 30 Treasurer's Report: Given by Brian Clary All areas doing well. Scholarship is off to a good start. New Members and Guests: No new members or guests attending tonight. Birthdays Celebrated: December & January Birthday Winner: Ray Swinehart! Congratulations! New Business: Introduced by Steve McClain. Reminding all "Dues are Due" - Lets get this done as soon as possible. So all will be included in the 2017 Roster and it can be distributed to all in a timely manner. 3 2016 V8 Christmas Brunch, continued from Page 1 Page 3 It was fun to watch all the gifts being opened, coveted, then stolen. You just have to remember it s all in good fun and don t fall in love with your gift until the exchange is over. Frank Wheeler s wonderful handmade wooden box was the final gift of the day to change hands and it went to Jim & Janice Luce. Congratulations. Dan Pallo also handmade a very nice metal V8 sign that was popular and traded hands many times before finding its forever home. Thanks Dan! Carol Rasmussen did an awesome job as always with the gift exchange and Carol was extremely happy with all the donations from our club members. Everyone who donated should feel really good about helping a child have a better Christmas. Good job RG#27 members! After our scrumptious brunch we all indulged in some super yummy homemade cookies for our brunch dessert trays. Julie McClain, Rochelle Berizzi, Joanne Davey and Amy Buegeleisen made cookies for all of us to enjoy. Thank you ladies. I know the brunch is one of our clubs most popular events and for a good reason. It is a great way to socialize with good friends, a nice environment, tasty food, fun times and a wonderful way to end the year.
