1 Rancho Bernardo Newcomers Social Club Newsletter March 2019 For anyone who has lost their copy of the newsletter, you may always go to the Website and obtain the same information ( Upcoming Special Events California Center for the Arts Thursday, March 21, 2019 Join us on Thursday, March 21, 2019 when we will visit the California Center for the Arts at 340 N Escondido Blvd, Escondido. We will tour the facility, including the theater (front and backstage), the kitchen (and maybe even meet the chef) and other interesting parts of the facility. The tour will start at 10:30 AM and will take about 1 1/2 hours. We will do lunch on our own at any of the nearby restaurants. For reservations and further information, contact Barbara Shaw at or Events@RBNewcomersClub.org. April Wine & Dine Thursday, April 11, 2019 APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS The next in our series of Wine & Dine Dinners for all members of the RB Newcomers Social Club will be at 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 11 at Chin's Szechwan Restaurant, A Bernardo Heights Parkway in Rancho Bernardo. Dinner will be family style and will include the following: Egg Flower Vegetable soup, Shanghai Egg Roll, Chicken Dumpling, Imperial Shrimp, Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Szechwan Garlic Beef, and Steamed White Rice (something for everyone to share!). The cost is $25/person, including tax and gratuity. There will be a no-host bar, or you can bring your own wine for a $10 corkage fee. Reservations are limited to 40 people, so please get your reservation in early. Make your reservation by sending a check for $25/person made out to RBNSC to Hilda Teel at Frondoso Drive, SD, CA no later than April 4 th. The Old Bold Pilots will meet at 7:30 AM on the second Monday of each month at Denny s for a nohost breakfast with camaraderie. We welcome all former or current military and airline pilots only. The major piece of the program is the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2. It has been described as "an unassailably epic work of genius". This concerto is one of the greatest works in the piano repertoire. Also on the program is the Hungarian March by Berlioz and the Romeo and Juliette Fantasy-Overture by Tchaikovsky.
