4 BACKGROUND The Australian International 3 Day Event (AI3DE) is Australia s premier equestrian event and one of the top six events in the world which make up the World Wide Pro Tour of Eventing - the FEI Classic Series. Much like an equestrian version of the triathlon each horse/rider combination compete over three days in three phases the skill and beauty of Dressage followed by the thrill and excitement of Cross country and finally the precision and power of Showjumping. The AI3DE is held in the inner city parklands of Adelaide to the same standard as the Olympics, and attracts the world s best rider and horse combinations battling it out for Australia s biggest prize pool over $140,000 and valuable points for the series prize. To be held from the November, the AI3DE attracts more than 25,000 spectators annually from across Australia and the world, to watch this exciting competition unfold and brings over $10 million economic impact to the State. A one-hour highlights television program of the event is broadcast internationally through Eurosport and affiliates to over 15 million viewers and live streaming of the event is popular worldwide through FEI TV. Channel 7 broadcasts a quality highlights package of the event around Australia on the Seven Network.

5 ACHIEVEMENTS In 2016 we achieved: The Largest prize pool for Eventing in the Southern Hemisphere. The biggest crowds at the event ever over 27,000. Worldwide recognition through media coverage - TV/Print and Electronic media. CNN Crew from UK in Adelaide to present stories to the world. Former World #1 and recent Event Masters winner Oliver Townsend from UK won the RM Williams CIC3* Class. Twilight Jumping with the stars was a crowd favourite with packed grandstands, Marketplace and hospitality marquee. 1 hour highlights program produced in the UK and shown worldwide through Eurosport and affiliates brokered through the FEI as part of the worldwide FEI. Classics Series to an audience over 15 million, 36 million for the FEI Series. 8 hour s live coverage of the event around the world through live streaming by FEI TV. 1 hour highlights program shown Australia wide through the Channel 7 Network. World cup Showjumping was hugely popular both Saturday Twilight after the Qantas cross country and at lunchtime on Thomas Foods Showjumping day. 52% of our ticket sales came from interstate and 3.2% from overseas. Increased government and Council interest and support of the event. Live CCTV feed onto our Big Screens and live streaming of Dressage. Increased media promotion with partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission, Brand SA, Channel 7, the Advertiser Newspapers, ABC Radio National, 5AA plus major Equestrian Magazine and social media support world wide. Special guests including the Recent Rio Bronze medallists. Expanded the experience in the popular VIP hospitality marquee in Rymill Park overlooking the water jump action on Qantas Cross Country Day. Sold out grandstand Friday and Sunday. Sold out VIP Chairman s Lounge on all 3 days with over 400 each day. A broader range of facilities and events to appeal to spectators including the World Cup Show Jumping, expanded Trade Village the Market Pace plus pony club and interschools course walks and education programs.
