3 Project Goals 1. Create a safe ferry system 2. Launch three routes by 2017 ( Rockaway, Astoria, and South Brooklyn) 3. Launch remaining two routes by 2018 (Lower East Side, Soundview) 4. Ensure continuity of the East River Ferry service 5. Create a unified system focused on customer experience 3

6 Long Island City North Center Blvd. Citywide Ferry Plan assumes significant ridership from LIC-North Supports two separate routes Large walking market adjacent to landing High ridership potential 10,000 new residential units directly on waterfront New developments are more than ½ mile from nearest subway stop Projected over 4,000 trips per day to depart from LIC-North (highest non-manhattan ridership).
