3 Project Need - Why Do We Need Link US? 1. LA Union Station (LAUS) is approaching operational capacity 2. Ridership to grow from 110,000 to 200,000 daily passenger trips by Current stub-end (dead end) tracks limit efficiency and station capacity 4. Critical transportation needs due to increase in forecasted ridership

5 Board Approved Alternative 2: 6 RR + 2 HSR Integrated Design, HSR & WSAB Phased Accommodation ALTERNATIVE 2 OVERVIEW 6 Regional Rail Run-Through Tracks 2 HSR Run-Through Tracks (Integrated Design and Phased Construction) 7 Platforms (1 Gold Line, 1 WSAB Line, 1 HSR, 4 Regional Rail) Other Alternatives with 6+4 and 6+0 are being studied in the CEQA and NEPA environmental processes.
